I have had a similar thing occur - my clinic wont treat patients who have a bmi over 35. I do understand why though - your chances of falling pregnant are a lot worse for people in that category, whether or not the reason for your infertility is male factor, female factor or unexplained. So I get it. But that doesn't make it any easier. I had to lose 15kg to start IVF and it nearly killed me - I ended up at the gym every single day for 3 months and lost the 15 kg, but it was the hardest thing I ever did.

I have since put a bit of that weight back on, mainly due to ohss and hormones, and the clinic dont weigh me anymore. They have asked me to try and lose a couple of kilos if i can for our next cycle as we want to give ourselves every possible chance so that we dont have to go down the donor sperm path next year.
