Currently giving infacol to my 7 week old DD to help with wind. Doesn't seem to be helping her get it up/out any better than usual. Also hasn't had a bowel movement for over a week, although she appears to strain quite hard. Tried coloxyl with no results. Have heard of putting glycerine on the dummy to help with pooing. Any ideas or info???
When my bubs used to get a bit of wind, I would heat up a little bit of olive oil, rub it on your hands and massage onto the bubs belly. Make sure though it isnt too hot that it will burn you or bub, just warm. You dont need much but used to work for me. Hope it helps your little one.
Hey Maddismum - My DS was terrible for wind between about 6-12 weeks, infacol worked for us, but as its not making much difference for you, perhaps try something else, there are quite a few remedies - ask at your pharmacy, they should be able to offer some options. If you think she is constipated a natural remedy is to mix some brown sugar with some boiled water and once cooled spoon some of the liquid into her mouth, it can get things moving downstairs IYKWIM?
Re the bowel movements - is she breastfed? As its completely normal for breast fed babies to go even a couple of weeks between bowel movements, my son went about 7 days once and when he did finally go - whew, it was a corker, and a bath was the only solution HAHAHAHAHAHA
