| | feedback on boys names - head sore from brickwall
hi lovelies,
Just looking to hear some feedback/opinions about our 'shortlist' on baby boy names.
We really like all the names and would be happy with any of them, but there isn't a stand out (yet) and we haven't come across THAT name that we fell in love with.
Our surname, irritatingly, begins with Od*****
The middle names are interchangeable between James and Alan (family names i'd like to use). My dad is known as AJ and that's why i like the A beginning names.
Ashton James
Daniel Alan
Andrew James
Marcus Alan/James (unsure)
other names on the sidelines at the moment are Alex, Adrian, Thomas, Bradley and Adam but we like the above ones better.
thanks for reading and responding
Oh and if you don't like can you tell me why please?
ta

Huge fan of Ashton and Marcus is okay but I find the others very common and SORRY a bit boring. But I like names that are a bit different - I think Ashton is totally cool and if you had James after it then he could be AJ!

thanks for the replies ladies.
yep, jordie i think that's what i'm struggling with - boringness. I want a nice strong name that isn't too common but isn't completely unusual.
by the by, one of our friends recently named their baby NEO. I wish we had of thought of that one first lol.
but keep the feedback coming, it does help

I really like Daniel Alan but Daniel James is nice too. Danny is such a cute nickname too.
Also I LOVE Alex and Thomas. I don't think they are boring names at all. |

Ashton James
Daniel Alan
I really like these two, and both have a great sound to them.
Andrew James
I agree with those who have said this is a good strong name. Also Andrew and Daniel aren't that common anymore so its not a "boring" name- Its more of a classic
Marcus Alan/James
Can't really say why but I'm not keen on this name and it doesn't seem to sound good with the middle names you have chosen.
Good Luck!

My DP's name is Adam Allan (Allan after his Dad) so our DD's middle female name starts with an ' A ')

My brother's name is Adrian and I think it is lovely but then so is my brother!! He is also an AJ because of his surname (my maiden name) Adrian is good because it won't ever be common but is not so out there and wacky. I don't like Ashton because it will be too popular especially because of Ashton Kuchter (or whatever his name is, who is now Mr Demi Moore) and my husband's hometown is Ashton and it is awful crime ridden grotty little place!
I hear you about choosing a boy's name! DH and I have no idea. We have a list of girl's names as long as our arm but absolutely no boy's name that we both absolutely love. Only a few that we can tolerate!!!

I like Ashton James the best, too. Distinctive sounding without being 'out there'. It's nice!
