    Default Ring Slings

I have been looking at various ring slings, but really have no idea what I need to be looking for. Do I need a 'lightly padded' sling, or is the standard slings confortable enough?
I've been looking at either the 'belly bumps to baby hugs' ring slings, they Maya wray RS or the Ellaroo... What are your thoughts?
Would love to hear from anyone that may have one or have worn one to know whats comfy or what to look for in a good sling.
    TIA

I have a Bear Hug Baby ring sling, it's just fabric, no padding, and it seems to do fine. Once we got the hang of it Jazz didn't seem uncomfortable, in fact it wasone of theonly places she'd sleep some (a lot of...) days.
For me it was comfy enough, BUT look for one with a wide shoulder. Narrow shoulder straps will dig in or ride up into your neck. If you have it spread out enough you don't need padding.

I think most ring slings do, but it's good to be able to tighten the top and bottom rails independantly (I think the issue is only with the 'clip' slings, not the 'ring' slings but I'm not sure so I just thought I'd put that in).

Hopefully someone who has tried a few will come in. I love my ring sling (used it from newborn and still using it at 18 months when Jazz is on my hip!) so never bought anything else hehe.

    Thumbs up

I have an Ellaroo and absolutely love it! I didn't use it for the first couple of months because I didnt feel it was supportive enough on DS back, lots of people do use them early on though. I was possibly doing it wrong, I only tried once and decided to leave it for a bit longer. But now I use it nearly everyday. It's great for short trips to the shops/ if he is refusing to go to sleep at home/ at the shops when he's tired and he wont sleep in the pram.

It takes a heap of weight off my lower back (which I've had long term problems with)when carrying him. I do find that after a while (couple of hours) that my shoulder, that the sling is over, begins to get a little sore and that the sling pulls the shoulder forward slightly, so I have to watch my posture while using it. But aside from that it's brilliant.
