Default Theme for a 2yr old DD birthday party?

I have my DD 2 yr old birthday coming up and although we are only having family over I would like to have a theme. Last year we did Pooh, this year I have NO IDEA!!!

I'd love to hear from everyone with their ideas.

Thanks!

Hello!!!

This year we are having a combined party for my girls. We are only having cousins over of which there are 4 of and they will be dressing up. DD1 will be a mermaid and DD2 will be Dora (she is just wearing a Dora dress). I am making a Ariel cake for DD1 and a Dora cake for DD2.

DD1 had a Hi5 party for her 2nd bday.

What is your DD into?

I was thinking Dora as she does like Dora, but I wouldn't say she is fenaticaly about Dora. She doesn't watch much TV and mostly it is the music channel as she loves to dance. I thought maybe a Disney theme of some sort but as I said she's not really into anything.Umm!!!

She does love butterflies...that might be a thought...

Definitely depends on what your DD is into! Some more generic ideas are

Teddy bears picnic
Mad Hatter's Tea Party
Theme around a nursery rhyme - Gingerbread man/Twinkle Twinkle - for cake ideas etc
A letter party - so things with the first letter of DD's name
A Pink party - Pink food/decorations/dress

HTH - Have fun and Happy birthday to your DD!

xx

For DD's 1st birthday next month i am going with a butterfly theme.
You could just do a cake or get a cake made in the shape of a butterfly or even just a garden with butterflies and lady birds?
You can make your own butterfly wings out of stockings and wire coat hangers for any little girls that attend and maybe for any boys they could be some kind of bug?

You could go with a music theme, does she like any song in particular?
Get old CD's or something and hang them around as decorations?

Not sure if this helps.. have fun!
