ummm.. you don't want to know what I do to DS if he starts to fall asleep on the couch in the late arvo.. LOL

Last time he did it (last week sometime) I held him up in the air by his foot and waved him around so he would start giggling, and then put him on the ground and tickled him until he had woken up properly and shaken off those sleepy vibes!!! LOL Or I chase him around the house a bit (well as much as I can in my condition!) and then sometimes I give him something to nibble on to just wake him up and get him through till dinner.

Um so yes, if it was DS I would definitely be waking him up.

ive done the soft approach - banging crashing in the kitchen,
hitting the tamborine and marracas next to her and DS blew the recorder about 30cm from her..... no movement!!

Good God....you would think that the recorder would have woken her!! Specially if it was a high note!!

I would be definately waking DS if it was him otherwise he wouldn't go to bed till like 8-9 or even later!!

yep i would wake her so you can start to break the cycle.. i never used to wake DS1 and I dont wake DS2 but by this age i thik it is better -esp if you are trying to break a cycle.. and if they arent great at going to bed (i have afriend whos little man sleeps til 4.30 but he is back in bed at 7.30 so it is ok, mine that would never happen)
mayb e leave it for today (and accept you havent broken the cycle today) and then tomorrow try lots of distractions at this time - go to the park, do some cooking together -whatever will keep her up. then it will be dinner time and then bed time...
hope the books go well tonight!
