Default Information on Royal North Shore Hospital Birthing Centre

Hi

Does anyone know where I can find information on the Internet for the birthing centre at RNSH (public) or any information on their pregnancy care options for that matter. I know there was mention that the birth centre was going to be closed down but I have GOOGLED it and can't find anything. Doesn't RNSH have their own website?? Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick (which is public) has their own website and they have great information on the different care options available (ie. birth centre, midwive's clinic, team midwifery, shared care etc).

Why is there no information for RNSH?

Thanks.

Monique

The info maybe under Northern Area Health Service, will look and let you know.

Yep its now part of Northern Sydney Central Coast Health so they only belong to that website now. Maybe they have moved the link to RNSH as it isnt working anymore or they are fixing the site.

HI Belle

Thanks for the info. I think you are right, it is all under the Northern Sydney Central Coast Health website but I can't seem to find any specific info. I will have another look. If you do happen to find anything, it would be greatly appreciated if you could let me know and point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

I'm friends with a midwife who works at RNSH. She said you can have midwife care only there which is great. I don't think there is any information online though... perhaps give the hospital a call?

If I have another one i'm going to go for the midwife option. I went to the private hospital next door and wasn't really impressed

Hi Kitty

Thanks for the info. The fact that you weren't that impressed with North Shore Private and would go to RNSH next time seems to speak volumes. I guess I'm just going to have to go along there and see it for myself.

Default Information on Royal North Shore Hospital Birthing Centre

Hi Newmamma

No I didn't end up going to RNSH, I decided to go private and went to North Shore Private and I have to say I had a great experience. I didn't want to go home! They really looked after me and our beautiful little baby girl who was born on 3 June. Can't believe it's been 8 months. If private is an option for you then I can definitely recommend NSP but if going public then I'm sure RNSH will be fine. There are a couple of new mums I've met through mother's group that went there and as far as I know, all went well.

Good luck

PS. I don't know of anyone that actually used the birthing centre, they just went to the normal delivery suites.
