Default Uneven boobs......

Ive b/f all my children up to 12mths of age...im right handed, and prefer to feed on my right boob - just feels more comfy - in saying htat, i always offer both boobs at a feed. I noticed with my girls, my left boob (towards the end of the b/f journey) started to look smaller than the right . Obviously because i offered the right more. But at 11-12 months old, i wasnt that fussed. But now, H at 5 months prefers my right boob over my left. Ive been doing the football hold the last few days to trick him ....he does seem to suck a bit and seems ok with it all, but my right boob always has more of a supply.....i have no intention of giving up b/f soon...just worried my left boob isnt going to last the distance.........and why has this happened ????

Have no answers but my boobs are really uneven in size too. I prefer to feed off the left which is the bigger one. When I feed off the smaller boob Eva takes forever to feed and I normally take her off after an hour because my nipple is bruised

Hi there, my lactation consultant told me that you will always have a bit more supply in one breast than the other I know my right breast has a higher supply than my left because it always feels fuller and is the only breast that goes rock hard if I miss a feed! When I express I also get more out of my right than my left. I feed from both breasts as well.

Don't stress I think it is pretty normal to more in one breast than the other

It's pretty common hun, and isn't a problem at all. Women can feed from one side only if need be, so a bigger supply on one side isn't a real problem. Especially if you don't look in the mirror

I'm lopsided too and have always preferred to feed on the right, supply is much better on that side.

It's pretty common from what I've heard.

Don't know what I'm going to do once I stop b'feeding though...boob job anyone??

Preference on my right side here too. Now the LHS is hardly used. I theorise that it has something to do with the way we hold our babies, so they feel more comfortable being held on the right side if we are right handed, because that hold is more secure/stable. Apparently most babies prefer one side over the other and it is usually the RHS.

I have to say though that after 2 years of bfing the size readjusted itself and they both look the same (in terms of size) as they did pre-pg. I don't think my bbs will change once DD weans completely because I've bf for so long.

Hey hun. You could always express off that side so that you keep supply there and therefore a bit of size, and then you have the added benefit of having ebm for JIC or even for him to have once he's weaned.
