Question Teething? or just being fussy?

Thought i would put a thread in here coz im a little confused to whats going on with my lil girl.

For the past 1.5 weeks she has become quite clingy and whingy. Not crying but whingy iykwim. Shes fine as long as I'm cuddling her. This is very unlike her as she is a very independent bub and would happily play on the floor with her toys for hours.

I put it down to her having abit of a cold. But it wasnt too bad, just a slight cough and the sneezes. But that seems to be over now.

She has also gone off her food. SHe has 2 solids meals a day and we are doing BLS but i have been having to feed her coz shes just chewing on it, playing with it and throwing it on the floor. Same with her bottles, she has 5 bottles a day (about 150mls) and shes even fussing at these. Biting on the teats real hard and not interested in drinking at all.

Her poo's have become alot darker and stickier (like hard to get off her bum) but i dont know if this is coz of the solids.. She has also had alot of gas which mayb is the reason why shes not eating and drinking coz she has a tummy ache?

I only feel one bump in her mouth and its up the top but to the left. One of the teeth she isnt meant to get yet. But as soon as i put my finger in her mouth she bites down pretty hard, so i try and avoid it. lol

Shes been doing odd things with her dummys too. Will put the dummy in her mouth and bite down as hard as she can and while she is biting down, ripping it out of her mouth and doing this over and over.. mayb trying to put pressure on her gums?

So im not sure if its teething or shes just being fussy??

sounds exactly what jacob was like right before his two bottom teeth came up, and they did so overnight, with no visible signs at all.
he started pooing more often and it was darker, wanted me to be touchng him ALL the time, chewing on his dummy, my nipples (ouchhieees!!)
dont know what u can do though, I just sorta rode it out, only started putting the bonjela on recently as I think he has more coming.
poor little mia, I hope she feels better soon, and gives mummy a break!

oh, I did use infants friend, that seemed to work...

Hollye,

Bella is doing all of those things aswell. She has a bit of a cold as well. She has 6 bottles a day of 240mls but has only been drinking about 1/2 of evey second bottle - she usually scoffs them down!
She also has her hands/teather rings / toys in her mouth all the time and she does that same thing with her dummy and bottle teats - bites down hard on them and the rips them out so hard and fast that they make a twanging noise!
She is a bit more clingy too but not to bad.. she has also been sleeping more during the day and has rosy cheeks!

Sorry I cant give you any advice but I know what you are goin through!!

If it is teeth I hope they pop up quickly for Mia and she can get some reliefe!!

Hugs babe!

HOLLYE BJ has had the exact same symptons (except the dummy cause he doesn't take one), and yes, his teeth appeared a few days later.

My bub started doing the biting on the dummy thing just before he got his first tooth and I notice him doing it every time a new one is sprouting. He also gets a bit clingy and he experiences issues with number 2's in one way or another. He only went off his food with the 7th tooth.

Some babies do get their teeth in a different order to what they are supposed to get. Bumps aren't always an indication of where the teeth will surface though, sometimes you can't see or feel a thing then the next time you look there's a tooth there. It's all very strange.

My daughter is doing the same.....chewing on everything she sees. I've been using Bonjela just before she goes down for her naps and at night. That helps her sleep better also she doesn't feed properly because she wants to chew all the time. They do say babies lose there appetite when they are feeding. Good luck
