Default no period for 56 days, and wondering what to do?!

    hi all,

ok, i have been reading through everyones posts, as i am new to these boards, and i want to tell you my story and let me know what you think.

i had my last period Dec 14th and i then had a teeny tiny bit of spotting for under 24 hours RIGHT on 10 days post ovulation, (it was bright red and nothing like my normal period) on the 5th Jan.

    since then, nothing.

i was calculating the dates as my boyfriend and i are TTC, and if i had my last period on Dec 14th, its been 56 days today since my last period.

i would not count the 5th Jan as another period, but even if i DID, for arguments sake, then i haven't had a period for 35 days... and my cycle is usually about 24 days.

but anyway, the point is, the last real period was 56 days ago....

    SO....

i did a fair few pregnancy tests at home during January, and i guess now, after reading the posts and everything, that i was doing all that prematurely... and then i had a blood test at my doctors on 21st Jan which came back HCG under 2 - no action required.

i guess my question is, after reading more about conception, is it possible i am only 3 or 4 weeks pregnant, if indeed i am?

i have not had a period for 56 days, so i guess i could be, right?

my doctor has sent me for an ultrasound this saturday, as i am feeling like i am pregnant and the doctor thinks i should have an internal ultrasound to see if there is indeed a little baby swimming around in there.

i just want to ask everyone if i am right in saying i could be about 3 or 4 weeks pregnant.. and if i am, will this internal ultrasound show anything? i guess i will be seeing a sac, right?

i am just really nervous and i guess since late January, have been feeling like i really am pregnant as i am 29 years old, so is my boyfriend, and we have been trying for a baby for 3 months, and are both pretty healthy.... and well, my periods have always been on time, and last for about 4 to 5 days.

anyway, the longer i go without a period, the more excited and nervous i get.

this saturday after my internal exam i guess i will know, but i just want peoples thoughts on my situation.

    thanks so much

    d

edit: oh in addition, i have been having MAJOR creamy, lotion like white as white stuff leaking out of my womanly area in the past two weeks, and it smells a little different, not bad or anything, but different and it almost is bad enough to wear a pad every day as i am always so wet with it. sorry if that is too much info, but i heard that it happens during pregnancy?? am i right? sorry if i sound totally stupid but i haven't done this before

and one more thing, the boobs are growing already hehe!!

Hi mizzi! The quantitative hcg tests are very sensitive, and a result of less than 2 basically means undetected (I used to do these tests at my last job)

At 3 weeks preggers u should be between 5-50, and at 4 weeks, up to around 400, so at the time u got the blood test done, you probably were either not pregnant, or only just conceived, so the levels are too low to announce pregnancy - I'm sure the embryo doesn't produce until it has been implanted.

Anyway, enough of the science - yes it is possible you are pregnant, just that you did the test a little to early. The medical imagist will be able to see with ulltrasound that you are preggers - as long as it has been implanted!!! (please feel free to correct me people!!!)

Good luck!!! I hope you are UTD!!! Lots of

    WELL!

sorry its taken me a while to reply but i still havent seen my GP since my ultrasound.

it all went fairly smoothly, but all i got out of it was more confusion. the lady doing it was nice and let slip that my walls are very thick, and she thought i was about 3 weeks along, buttttttt i didnt see the screen or anything so i dont even know if she saw much.

i booked in to see my GP for later this week as they were booked out earlier and i started a new job this week so its been hectic.

so i'm pregnant, i guess!! haha

its awesome and all, but i am still not convinced til my GP tells me everything is normal and ok..

will they send me for another blood test? surely they will, right?!?!!?

hey congratz!!! thats awesome news! Told yah it was probably too early. Not sure if the doc will send you for a blood test unless the imagist saw something wrong - if she wasn't sure, i doubt that she would have even said anything to you

    okay.. update.

    this is not good news.

so, on the weekend i had what seems to be a miscarriage. i bled heavily for two days straight.

on friday, i got a call from my doctor telling me i needed to go in there urgently to discuss my ultrasound. so i did.

the doctor tells me i have an 8cm fibroid, which was most definitely competing with my early pregnancy and i will most likely have a miscarriage, which i obviously had less than 24 hours later.

he also tells me i am showing as having a uterus as big as a 14 week pregnancy due to this fibroid inside my uterus and i will not be able to carry any baby with it there so i need surgery.

on top of this, they found a 2cm "solid lesion" in my ovary, and it also needs attention as they dont know what it is!!!!!

    i am so freaking scared.

losing the baby on the weekend was something i could deal with i guess, as it was so early, but all of this is scary.

my nanna died last year of ovarian cancer, so did her twin sister.

i am only 29 and i feel like all of a sudden i have some kind of life sentence, even though i dont know what it is yet.

i have an appointment with a gyno tomorrow to see what to do next as i will need surgery.

im so scared. what on earth do i even ask them?

my doctor said the person who reviewed my ultrasound didnt even know what the thing on my ovary was. 2cms seems huge though.

and an 8cm fibroid?!?! thats massive. my ultrasound photos are so scary, its taking up my whole uterus.

thanks ladies. i will let you know how i get on.

the ultrasound results letter says "there is a intramural fibroid which measures 5.1 x 6.6 x 8.2cm..... and a 1.9 x 1.9 x 2cm avascular lesion in the right ovary. this is near isoechoic to ovarian parenchyma"

what the HELL does that mean?!?!?!

ok so i just got back from the gyno.

i went and saw a really nice gyno who explained my 8cm fibroid is huge for someone of my young age, and it needs removal. he told me that it may hinder my chances of ever getting pregnant and also i may need a blood transfusion mid surgery depending on how it goes as some people lose a lot of blood.

he told me the thing on my right ovary is not able to be diagnosed from the ultrasound so the "mass" will need to be examined further by another ultrasound, so i am having that ultrasound at the hospital next thursday morning.

the fibroid surgery will be 3 months from now probably, and it has to be done otherwise it will grow larger and will make me very sore and uncomfortable, plus no chance of ever getting pregnant.

so the news wasnt good at all really.

my ovary thing is currently an unknown "mass" and it may mean my whole ovary is to be removed, then the fibroid in my uterus wall has to be removed and there is a one in 70 chance i have to get a hysterectomy during surgery if it isnt easy to remove.

I'm so sorry to hear of all your bad news, but if you think about it, you are very lucky, if you hadn't thought you were pregnant you may never have found out about the fibroid and mass and it could have gone on for longer, maybe too late. I think the fact that you caught these things now means you have the best chance of sorting it all out. Like you said, you and DP are young and healthy and so still have a great chance of having a baby, not too mention how good fertility treatments are now.
I think things will turn out for the best for you.
Good luck with your surgery and i hope it all goes well for you.

i have been popping in to this thread to see how you were getting on, and so sorry for the way things have turned out for you. i wanted to wish you all the best for surgery, and as jellymaker said it's better for you that they found it now and not let it get any bigger.

thanks so much ladies. i feel really supported here. not to mention my amazing family and partner.

i dont have private health cover, so my mum offered to pay for the surgery so the gyno i saw yesterday can do it for me. the fibroid definitely needs to be removed.. as for the other mass on my ovary.. who knows what that needs, but i have my next ultrasound on thursday 4th march so i will pop in here and let you know how it goes.

its all very stressful, but as long as i am not dying, i can deal with it!!

as a few of you said, it is very lucky i found it now, and yes, if need be, we will try IVF and whatever else it takes...xox

thanks again for the support, it means a lot at this time.
