    Talking Cleaning Glass Shower Screens

I have these gorgeous glass shower screens, but man they are a pain to clean and keep clean.

How do I remove soap scum, water marks so they are streak free?

    Thanks

I attack it with domestos and scourer once a week. I too, like a clean glass whilst showering. We have a big orgy shower too.

As much as I hate buying chemicals, I'm an easy off Bam girl for the shower. It is the best thing I've found to get rid of the scum.
DH hates the shower head in our ensuite so will only use the main bathroom shower (I don't care - nice bathroom all to me ), but I am anal about rinsing all the suds/shampoo/conditioner etc off and away before I get out of the shower. My shower has much less than the main shower where DH wouldn't even think of that.

I got DH using non sulfate any other harsh chemicals free body wash for a while - made a real difference to the duration in which i had to clean my shower screens....but now, he's gone back to plain ole soap - which is the cause of this grime IMO.....

I use gumption and scourer....then wipe it down with vinegar and water and chammy.

Ive heard having a sqweedgy (sp ??) in the shower helps...and after every shower just wipe down the doors etc...but training Dh to do this will be a chore in itself.

I use vinegar & bi carb on one of those sponge scourers which aren't harsh. Our screens come up beautifully... and like Mbear, I squeegy after using the shower but getting my kids to do the one in their bathroom is close to impossible.

Using detergents (body wash, etc) is really preferable instead of soaps - you have to clean way less often and you don't get that really sticky scum at the bottom of the shower.

If you do a really serious clean with domestos and scourer and get it looking great, you can keep it clean fairly easily. Make sure all suds are rinsed off after the shower and use a little spray of window cleaner and a squeegie to clean and dry the surface. Note that I say "you can" because, although I did keep the habit for a while, I've gotten lazy and left it out lately.

    You're a killer TD! PMSL

I attack our shower with Jif and a non-scratch scourer. I have found that making sure the glass is REALLY clean, rather than just a half a**ed job keeps it cleaner longer too.

I use vinegar. I have a spray bottle with 1/3 vinegar and 2/3 water, leave it for a couple of minutes and wipe off.

I found a product in the supermarket called "Method daily shower spray". It is made from natural ingredients, no chemicals apparently. The point of it is to start with a clean shower screen and spray it on the glass regularly to stop the build up of the scum.

The Ylang Ylang Daily Shower spray is designed to be sprayed on shower and bath surfaces after each shower to prevent buildup and wash away debris and dirt on shower surfaces. The scent is intoxicatingly fresh and beautiful. The spray clings and drips away from shower surfaces taking grime along with it. With regular use, you'll never have to scrub your shower again
It did seem to work, I still needed to do a clean every now and again but no where near as much and without as much elbow grease. (We also used a squeegy on the glass after showers too)

Great big Thanks to my RAKer!!
