Default PUL Covers

Ok, now please bear with me as I really have no idea what I'm talking about here - I'm a disposable nappy Mummy.
I was just having a little browse on the Baby Beehinds website and I saw some lovely nappy covers I think they were called PUL covers??
I'm looking for something for my DD to wear under her little dresses to cover her nappy. I thought these lovely bright coloured covers might do the trick.
Can they be used as just a simple nappy cover?
