Default Recovery time after EPU?

Hey girls,

I am just wondering how long it took people to have no pain following EPU? I had my EPU yesterday and I am not in pain as such, just really quite uncomfortable. I can't hold urine for very long before it gets really sore and I am getting (TMI) shooting pains in the rear area. Is this normal?

I don't have any symptoms of OHSS and my bloods are all good which confirm that it isn't OHSS.

How long does it take to feel normal again?
Cheers
Sue xxx

Sue - it took me a couple of days to get past the part where the follicles re-fill with fluid and then finally start to drop... So I would say to feel okay again 3-4 days for me. I wasn't in much pain after the first day, just really uncomfortable and bloated.
And then about a week later I bloated again which was nasty, but hormones are a fickle thing
Hope you start to feel better soon.

Oh yeah, and I found that the sharp pains were where the needles were stuck through the vaginal wall were pretty poopy.

Thanks so much Sonya, it is good to hear that. Although my bloods are all good and my Dr tells me I don't have even mild OHSS, I am still worried about something going wrong at this stage.

Thanks for your input.

Hi ladies,

I read this because I wanted to know a bit more about EPU and ET.

Oh no not more pain!! HSG was painful for me. Please don't tell me I have to endure yet more pain.

Hey,
It wasn't painful as such, just really uncomfortable and when I needed to pee, it got quite sore. But Sonya was right, it went away after 4 days. It was the very day of ET that I started to feel totally normal.

All good hun!

Ok good. I was beginning to get very scared of the whole IVF process because of my HSG experience.

I hope to be doing this soon. Just one more blood test then booking in with Fertility Clinic.

I was in pain for quite a long time following EPU. At least 4 days before DH moved back into our bed.

I had a fair bit of trauma to my ovaries though, with a lot of blood in the abdomen which made things really painful.

Thanks Dutchie,

How are you going with your IVF journey?? I haven't caught up with you for awhile.

I don't know about EPU but after my HSG (hysterosalopingogram), I am not in pain anymore but uncomfortable and bloated. Its been 5 days. My poor DH is waiting for me to be ok for intimacy.

redlady.
