Default High progesterone levels on day of trigger?

I am doing my trigger tonight for my egg collection on Wednesday, but my clinic called me this afternoon to say that my p4 (progesterone) levels are a bit high which may mean that my body wont be suitable to have an embryo transferred after egg collection.

My p4 is at 7.8, and their cut off is 8. Apparently they are unsure whether I should have a transfer, but I have told them I want it so they are happy to go ahead. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences?

I have done a bit of research through journal articles - some say that there is a negative connection to pregnancy rates, other studies have found no correlation between higher progesterone levels at trigger and your odds of getting pregnant. One study even found a positive correlation between high p4 levels and success in pcos patients! who knows what to think about it all!

Hi BecD,
Sorry I can't help you on this one, I wonder if it is linked to a possible early LH surge, but if it is a stim cycle, this should not happen with either Syneral or Orgalutran? Either way I hope it makes no difference for you. I wanted to wish you all the best for your EPU and I hope you do get to transfer. xx

Thanks for the reply BD. I ended up getting 33 eggs so have to do a freeze-all cycle anyway!
