Default Anyone EPU @ Royal Womens in Vic?

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone out there has had an EPU at the Royal Womens in Victoria recently? I just wondered if you can tell me whether they let your DH into pre and post recovery with you? Also were they nice and friendly? I had my first EPU at the Freemasons and they were so great, really looked after me, even gave me a warmed up blanky to take into to op room! I'm always nervous when I have to go somewhere new and would just love it if someone could tell me how their experience was so I have some idea of what to expect.

Thanks in advance

Hi infinity,
I have had 3 EPUs at The Womens Hosp and unfortunately, DP was not allowed in the pre and post recovery room with me, I had to leave him out in the waiting room. You will sit with other ladies who are having their EPU aswell while you wait to have yours. On the plus side the nurses are all very nice, I had no complaints about how I was treated at all. Also you will get a warm blanket too when you go into theatre, they'll cover you up just before they knock you out which is nice as you are just about naked when you go in (except for that lovely hospy gown) oh they'll give you a dressing gown to wear over the top while your waiting to go in, I guess so you don't get too cold but they'll take it off you when you go into theatre. HTH
Wishing you the very best, I hope you get a nice haul.

Hi Infin

I have had 3 EPU's at RWH. The nurses are lovely, and as it is a new hospital, everything is set up really well. You sign in, then sit in a waiting room with DH. Then the nurse calls you through, and DH goes to his appointment, you get changed in little rooms, and wait with other ladies, in a comfy dressing gown etc, this is an opportunity to read a mag, or have a chat to one of the gals waiting with you. By the time your dressed in in the recyliners after changing, dh will be there before you know it. BOL and hope they pick the right eggs.
