Default OVer 41 - any success

Don't know if I am in the right area.....

I am 41 and my dh is 45. we went for our first FS appointment this week and he has said the only way to get preg is to go with IVF (dh has very low count and low motility). He has sent us both off for blood tests, and a trial wash for dh and an ultrasound for me. I did 21 day blood test last month with my gp and FSH was 22. FS is sending me off for a blood test on day 2 of my cycle to see what my FSH level is. He also told me if there is an issue it might not even be worth trying the IVF. Everything I have been reading for women over 41 going for ivf is that there is poor success rate. Doesn't sound too good at all.

Is there anyone out there in our age group who can tell me of their experiences?

Thanks

Hi Mary,

I know it's not really current but... my mum had me 3 weeks before she turned 43. Not IVF, but still shows she had plenty of "good eggs" at that age

There are loads of ways to naturally support your body throughout the whole process (naturopathy, acupuncture, etc) and as Dragonfly said there will be loads of lovely ladies here on BB who can share their experiences.

Good luck!
xo
