maitland hospital

Hi all;
i was just readin a thread about maitland hospital and was wondering if anyone had been there recently, or is going in soon?
DH and I are moving to cessnock and we arent too sure as to which hospital we should get a transfer with...
I have heard mixed reports about maitland and DH seems to think we would be better off transferring to a newcastle hospital, but im not so sure. My plan is to be in this time for as little time as possible, and get home asap as dh wont be able to get any time off from work cause he wont have any holiday time from starting this new job and what not.
Anyhow any and all opinions would be great!

Hi Justine, if your pregnancy is straightforward and you're def going home quickly, then you will be happy at Maitland. It's not a first birth...if you had no probs the first time, you shouldn't expect any this time. Just keep in mind that if you have any complications in late pregnancy or during labour, you may be transferred to the John Hunter whether you like it or not. Let us know what you decide!
