Default My first time using OPK's, got a positive. I have some questions.

Well I used a OPK for the first time today and it was positive. I got two lines. They were two different shades but I really do not know which was darker, I think the test line although it was thinner than the control line. Does this sound positive?

This is the first time using an OPK and it seems I am ovulating would this be just a fluke? I have increased CM but it does not seem like EWCM yet.

I am a bit confused by the whole thing, do I test just once a day? I tested at about 3pm, should I just keep doing it at 3pm everyday until it comes up negative?

We did the BD at about 5.30pm... should I do it every day until the positive goes away?

I fell pregnant with DD first shot without knowing anything about OPK, charting etc. This time I want to increase my chances as much as possible as we have left starting TTC a bit later than we would have liked.

Next Q is HPT, I have about 44 days cycles since DD was born, therefore it is about 22 days until AF is due, if I am ovulating now do I still have to wait 22 days to test? Or just the normal 10-14 days?

Sorry for rambling on... Any help would be appreciated.

Deanne.

a pic of the test would be helpful..

the test line needs to be identicle in size and shape but darker than the control line..

what brand are you using?
you can find photo galaries of + OPK's to compare yours to which may help.

test at teh same time tomorrow and see what the result is.

your leutal phase which is the time post ovulation never changes, so it will be anything from 10-16 days.. so prob best to leave it 16 days incase you have a long leutal phase..

hope some of that helped

Thankyou for your reply Kellz.

I have uploaded a photo, and now I look at it, it definatly looks positive, however I do think the line has got a bit thicker since I first did it.

The brand is forelife... any thoughts on this brand?

My wedding day is in 15 days... it would be nice to know before the night , although I am BF so I cannot drink anyway, maybe just one to toast...

I will test again tomorrow at 3pm again. I have noticed some of the ladies test 2-3 times a day when it is positive, is this just a habit or needed to be done for some reason?

hi...

i would say this is positive. the test line looks as dark as the control! lol about knowing before the wedding night.... i haven't used the forelife brand so i can't offer any opinions, mine always come from oracle fertility. people test a few times when it is positive because (like me are a serial tester...) sometimes too you can miss the surge as it can happen very quickly in some women. If you test in the am and you surge in pm the next morning it will still look negative and you will think it has never happend... these are the two main reasons i think...

well all the best catching that egg and with yoru wedding. how exciting!

looks pritty positive to me.... if not quit it wouldnt be to far away. i can never quite catch my surge, i test once a day at the same time and get almost positive then back to faint... but iv read some pple never get a full positive, all depends on the person and the brand. hope you have been bd and keep bd for the next few nights!!
good luck

Hello,

I use the OPK Forelife brand and when I am leading up to the LH surge I get a couple of days of what I think is positive. (The lines look fairly even in colour). Then when it is the LH surge the test line is heaps darker than the control line! They never are the same thickness though which does not matter.

I test 2 times a day once I start to get 2 faint lines so I dont miss the surge.

I have 40 day cycles now after having my daughter and dont ovulate until 26-27day.

Good luck with your wedding & loads of baby dust 2 u
