That's a tough one Sam...my instinct is to say no, because you use cloth nappies, and have 4 kids...
but then I have a cheap Italian washing machine and 2 kids in cloth and it's fine. So...

Hmm.

I've got my normal mixer on the bench, and have set myself a test, if I use it regularly for baking and things for a year, then I will have proved that I can justify an upgrade.

oh Sam!!! You need your washing machine!! Especially with 4 kidlets and cloth nappies!

**now that unfortunately my MIL gave me her retro sunbeam mixer.... which I do LOVE! it means I was unable to buy my KA mixer.... but I'm getting the blender for Christmas!!!!**

Sam - agree with the others, get a good washing machine and save for the KA. Maybe ask for some House gift vouchers for future birthdays and Christmas.

Christy - you will have to tell us how the blender goes.

Nelle - good idea with seeing how it goes for the year. Do you want to do other things other than bake? I know DH is drooling at the thought of making our own sausages.

Well Astrid my love, considering that I have all domesticity of a newt, I think I will just start slowly but surely with baking...that will be big enough, considering that I have to clean up after myself...

ETA: How very clever of you Sam!

Just bumping this to share that I put on on layby today

They are supposedly going up $100 very soon so will be $799! I was keen on a pink one but seeing as it would have to be new stock ordered it would be at the new price so I settled for an oyster (glittery black) one.

Something to consider if you are a ditherer such as I

I saw they were going up. Thankful I got mine last year, but kicking myself for not getting some of the extra, as I notice that they are going up as well.

Just bumping this thread up...hope no-one minds.

Have a bit of extra cash after tax this year, that of course could go to an important cause (like the mortgage), but I already spent my stimulus money and much of my tax on DH (he got to spend his too) so I'm really wanting a little splurge....and the new candy apple red matches my lights in my kitchen.

Do I really need one of these? Please give me the reasons to arm myself with....

Well, considering you really want a Candy Red one, now is the time to get one. It is now or never.

If you love to bake, it does a fantastic job. Egg whites and cream are handled beautifully. It can beat 1 litre of cream with no problems.
It is in Candy Red
The attachments are very handy to have. Once you have a lot of grating to do you will love it.
It comes in Candy Red.
Handles dough beautifully
It looks really pretty on your bench.
