‘Waterbirth Minus the Mystery’ – For Consumers
In this two hour workshop designed especially for pregnant women and her support person/partner, you’ll feel much more relaxed and at ease – even looking forward to labouring and birthing in water.
In this fun, hands on workshop run by ‘The Midwife’ team (Brenda Manning RM, Kim Short RM and Robyn Koster CBA), you’ll see and participate in a role-play using an inflatable pool filled with water complete with a pregnant woman! You’ll see videos and pictures, along with a well-delivered presentation, which will give you the know-how and confidence to labour and birth in water with ease. You’ll get your hands wet as well as learn:
- The benefits and risks of waterbirth, including statistics and research
- Setting the scene and useful props
- Complications and how to deal with them – and much more
