Congrats HJ! Very excited for you
And congrats to you also Mamasupha! :D Doing nursing first does have it's advantages too. You could also look at transferring to BMid after the first 12 months of nursing, especially as you have such a high rank already I'm sure they'd look upon you very favourably.
Thanks HJ - my plan is to transfer to Midwifery after 12 months :)
I'm glad in a way as my DD starts school, so hopefully this means that for most of her first year I can take her and pick her up
Congrats girls, so proud of all of you for getting in and showing such initiative to do what you want with your lives!
Just out of interest where is ACU?
ACU is at Banyo!!! whoop whoop! hahaha ages away!
my friend who has a rank of 89 rang QTAC and they told her the cutoff for griffith BMid was 90. So close mamasupha!
Congratulations everyone on your offers!
Hj it would have been good to study with you this year, if I hadn't deferred my ACU offer. *Sigh*.
Bon, you might be doing it with me :) I have to defer, for obvious reasons ;) Still not quite sure how I'll go with distance though.
My friend was just speaking to someone at griffith Uni and they had 900 applicants for BMid :o. makes me feel not quite so bad though knowing I'm only one reject out of 850!
Bon - change your mind! LOL do it this year!!!!
Im finding everything so confusing! exspecially enrolling in classes!!!
HJ1981 and mamaspice - I'm another ACU BMID brisbane year 1 student here :D
Hi Periwinkle, i won't be starting this year. I'm going to defer, but all the best for your first year. How exciting :D
Hi hj, TBH I'm really not too sure.
I don't think I'd have much luck with Griffith. I can't imagine going a Tertiary prep course or something similar would increase my ranking from 80 to 90.
I'm even just considering going the old fashioned way and doing Nursing externally through CQU, then Mid post grad.
You must be getting sooo excited! have you enrolled into your classes?
you know that sounds like a good idea!!! and you could do externally this year maybe?
Right I've finally done it! I've enrolled.
Up till yesterday I wasn't going back to uni as I knew we couldn't afford to buy the books and I didn't want to put any more pressure on DF with money, then I spoke to my very beautiful friend who told me "Don't be stupid, I'll give you my books!" God I love people! She kept goign the year I took time off to have DS so she already has all the books I need!
So I'm doing: Pathpysiology and Pharmacology on campus at Logan
Health Law and Ethics off campus
Research for health professionals off campus
So happy that I'm oging to be able to go back finally and get this thing done! How is everyone else doing with enrolling etc??
Congrats to everyone who got offers. So exciting!
For those who didn't get into GU, apparently the course scores are always really high the first year they offer a program (especially if it is a BMID one!) and then they drop a little the following years. So don't think it will never happen!
spice - I am still tossing up whether to continue with my nursing through CQU, since I have already done 6 subjects, but I just don't think my heart is in it anymore. Will see what happens, at least I know I have the ACU offer still there for next year.
Hi Ladies,
Congratulations to all those to got offers!
I didnt get an offer for Griffith or UniSA so I will be moving back to Brisbane in the next few weeks to start my 2nd year at ACU. I am really looking forward to it.
So hands up who's starting at ACU????
Hey Sara - you already know im starting at ACU this year!!! :D
MamaSpice - the TPP increased my Rank by 6! and would of been more if i had of got High Distinctions instead of just Distinctions! so anything is possible! don't give up!
and yep i have enrolled in my classes! timetable isnt too bad - its Tuesdays 1100-1900, Thursdays 1100-1800 and fridays 1200-1700 - or something very close to thats!
Ella - woohoo well done!!!! your scored with the books!
My Three Sons - are u studying this year?
Bon - still wishing you hadn't deferred :-(
hj- Yep i am FINALLY starting my course :D It has seemed like the longest wait since i got my offer in Jan last year :D 40 days to go! woo hoo!
There's no other monash BMID students is there?
Hi hj, your timetable is pretty good! especially for a fulltime study load!
I know nothing about the tertiary prep course. So I'll have to pick your brain a little. It's through CQU isn't it? When do you have to start it?
My three sons - oh my gosh that is a Looooong wait - how did u ever survive it? would of driven me totally nuts!
MS - the TPP i did was done through USQ and you can start the TPP in semester 1 (March), semester 2 (July) or semester 3 (November). However u need to do a little test 1st - but it means nothing - its sent out to you in the mail and its just so they know where you are at! I still have all my assingments if u choose to do it and need any help!
Ella - I go to Logan too!!! Patho is really good! Iloved the subject, and the lecturer is lovely!!!
Health Law was interesting! And I'm doing Research this year! (i'm doing my 2nd half of 2nd yr nursing)
