Hi NLW55!
I ended up having a boy so didn't use the name (obviously) But maybe if i have a girl this time round i could.. although it hadn't even crossed my mind.. will have to add it to my list again i totally forgot how much i loved the name!
Did you use Sia as the first name or is it short for something? i would love to know the reason you choose it and what peoples reactions have been?
I worked with a lady names Sia, she was really nice :)
Oh! I like, I like! I'd say it like Mia or Tia... see-a.
LOL whoops old post, but you've given me ideas now :D ;)
Its a good name isn't it! don't think i'll be using it though, can't get dh to agree.
i'm pretty sure its pronounced 'see-ah'
like the singer Sia Furler - she has the most gorgeous voice! :)
Hi again,
Yes, we pronounce Sia like Mia with an S. See-ah. Not short for anything, just Sia, middle name Evelee (combination of family middlenames Eve & Lee). My husband heard Sia Furler on the radio a few years back & just tucked the name away for future reference! When we found out we were having a girl we loved it! Unusual but still very feminine. Response has been great! Not that we were overly fussed with other's comments, the main thing we will be concerned with is that she loves it when she grows up! The biggest issue has been pronounciation....people saying Thea, Shia...we had the "Seeya Sia" comments in the beginning but everyone is over it now. Hasn't been shortened yet but we were thinking it we do it will just be C.
33 weeks hey Jamakin! Hope it is all going well.
Cheers, Nic.
