I hear you! We don't have any boys names that we love! With the girls we had their names picked from very early, that's what they were going to be, we didn't even have any 'backup' names. But we have never had a boys name definitely picked out!! Maybe I won't have any boys. But I feel like it needs to be something I love too like the girls were. Boys names are soooo hard!!

It's the most frustrating thing ever!
DS's name wasn't even on our list. At 2 days old I told DH to just choose any name and he chose Lachlan. At the time I thought yeah I can live with that, but it has grown on me. I still don't LOVE it but I couldn't imagine him being anything else. I do have a boys name that I absolutely love (Henry) but it was DH's grandfather's name so he's hesitant on using it :(

I named DS at 9 weeks pg.... My first inkling I was having a boy was that I couldn't come up with a girls name I loved as much as my boys name. I gauged peoples responses when I suggested the name. I expected my mum to hate it, and was surprised when she said 'OMG, that's perfect.' There were a few moments when I questioned the name.. whether it was too 'out there', but when DS was finally born, and I looked at his little face (for several days lol), I just knew. He wasn't a Heath, or an Owen. He was Axel, clearly!
Good luck :)

I'm not thinking about it this time round LOL. With DD1 we looked at our short list when asked her name about an hour after birth and dismissed them all and came up with on of the cuff. With DD2 we again dismissed our list and she was nameless for 5 days till i loved a boy name DH suggested as a joke, and it was just 'her'. So this time no list, no planning, i will just see what seems right, after the 5 day wait last time it just does not seem a panic for us.

Ahhhh don't you love when they don't like any of your suggestions but have nothing better to offer!!
We (as you know) had ONE girls name that luckily we both love, otherwise we were MILES apart on girls names - boys names were easier :)
Fortunately this little girl has a name, however DH still likes to remind me how much he hates my favourite girls name
Scarily though, last Friday, one of my team members tells me how her and her partner were going to look at a retired greyhound that was a bit manic that they planned on adopting - would you believe it had the same name as unborn daughters name. I was devo, didn't want my girl to be named the same as her demented dog :o I was so surprised as our girls name is not very common and is a very unlikely dogs name LOL
Fortunately the dog wasn't for them - whew!! Tragedy Averted!!

We had DS1 's name from day 1 and loved it. We didnt have any girl names, but knew we were having a boy so it didnt matter. With DS2, DH couldnt decide, but i had a name i loved and started calling him that from the 12 week scan, to the point where DH said at 38 weeks "well we cant change it now!!".
I think you need to give names at least 3 months test, and if you still love them after that, they are a keeper!!

Have to love it. And we are struggling with both this time, but boys names are just disastrous! Eeeeeeek!

DH and I both hated each others favorites (mostly due to associations with people we knew) so we ended up looking at names that were neither of our first choices. The first time the name we've picked came up DH was reading things out of a name book mostly as a joke. I laughed and was adamant it was ridiculous. But it ended up really growing on both of us and now we're really happy with it. We've compromised on middle names - I've agreed to use one of DH's faves even though I'm not crazy about it. (I did point out that means we can't ever use it as a first name for future children while all my favorites are still fair game :-P )

Struggling here too. No ideas.
One of my friends is coming round tonight and she's bringing back my favourite name book so maybe that'll help.
Edit: DH does the same as yours. Strikes down my suggestions with no rebuttal name. Drives me insane.
Also - his extended family drives me bonkers. So many boys names that I'd love all off limits because they are his cousins' sons names blah blah. Thomas, William/Will, Aiden, Matthew,
Riley, all off our list. Boo.
Oh and our backup girls name, which we kind of assumed we'd use for another girl if we had one, was Tara. 10 months ago SIL had a Zara. Bye bye Tara. :(
