We actually did a survey at my baby shower on the names we were considering. We didn't know the gender, so we picked 3 of each and gave everyone two stickers to place on their favourite names (one for each gender). At the time, we were really leaning toward Angus, but for some reason in the two weeks before he was born, it started feeling right to call him William (and call him Liam) if it was a boy. However, we decided to wait until *it* was born to decide and when I met him, I just knew he was William...

Oh my gosh - i always thought that naming your bub was something that you did pretty much straight away - and when my friend took a few days to name her bub i thought that was strange - but after reading some of these posts it turns out to be fairly common!!!
i have found this very interesting - thanks heaps to all those that have replied!

We had only 1 name of each picked out, but we didn't know what we were having. I suspected boy though.
I was induced and the name we had picked out was written on the synto bag! Baxter Pharmaceuticals. So I guess it was a sign, I wasn't at all surprised when he was placed on my chest and he was promptly named Baxter, easy peasy.
I still love the girls name we had picked out and have picked a boy's name for next time even though I'm not even entertaining the idea of #2 yet. DH isn't so keen but I am going to dig my heels in.
