Sorry Jordie, I too agree with your DH. I think its good to have the option for your son to choose in adult life if he prefers Olly or Oliver, and he can always legally change his name to Olly if that is what he prefers.
I tend to agree with hubby! I am a Cassandra but have been called Cassie since the day I was born, a waste of a beautiful name I felt. I dont think I have ever heard my parents or my family for that matter call me Cassandra!! So when I was pregnant I was adamant I wanted a name for my baby that would be used and that is how my daughter 'Brooke' was named.
Brookie is cute for her now while she is little but she will grow and 'Brooke' will suit a lawyer, doctor...
Just my opinion, but Mackenzie and Oliver sound lovely as does 'Macca and Ollie' if that is what nicknames you call them. I too worry about names going together and they sound perfect.
Well it's great to have so many opinions and I am not worried at all - it makes me feel better abou ti actually! I like Ollie too bu tthought cause Mackenzie's name also ended in "ie' it might be too much?
My DH will be sooooo pleased!!!
Still have to decide if that's the track we go down after all this discussion, I'm still keen on Tate!
I like Oliver too. I think it's good to give your child the option of having a formal name and a nickname. That way he can choose which he feels comfortable with when he grows up.
