Sarah - I love it, but even after three girls it hasn't made an appearance.
William - it would never have gone with our surname, plus I've never had nor will have a boy.

I always loved Lucinda, Cassidy, Maeve, Sydney (we were sooooo close to using that for DS2 had he been a girl) and she was going to be Sydney Ellen, like Annette Benning's character in The American President. It was the one name we both absolutely loved. I have always had a soft spot for Alice (My great Grandmothers name) and Ruth (my grandmother's name). I would dearly loved to have used Ruthie, but I know she would have freaked out. She really has a thing about not using family names. I don't have a boy's name because I've already used them ;) If the two girls had of been boys they would have been nameless LOL because we just didn't have anything that we liked for a boy at the time we were having them.
I always wanted Lillian for my daughter(s) when I was little. I was going to have a whole garden of little girls. Then I had a boy, then another boy & when I finally got one of those many many little girls I always thought I would have, Lily was such an over used name I couldn't bring myself to use it. Isla is much prettier anyway :P. Then I went on to have 2 more boys so I was never going to get my Garden of names anyway lol.
I also like Seth & Zenith for boys. But Both names that DH never really put on his maybe list.
When I was in my early 20's I was adamant one day our baby girl would be called Nikita... Then as I got older and actually became pregnant realised how I did not like that name at all!
I had a dream about my beautiful baby girl and in the dream she was called Lucia... She was only a dream and I went on the have 3 boys back to back!!!
So no Lucia for us... Any takers??
Henry, Leo, Theodore, Atticus for boys. For varying reasons.
Pollyanna, Pippa, Tessa, Geneva, Beatrice for girls
As my surname is Hoar I am never going to have a child whose name begins with 'A', which got rid of Amelia from my list. I'm not so upset about that though cause its so common nowadays. So no 'A' names for me. I'm the only one in my family who gets to be A. Hoar :P
i really wanted to call my baby "Amelie" but got voted down. Also loved loved loved Ruby.
Tamsin
Tobias
I love Elliette for a girl (ok huge scrubs fan here, and yes I know why she was named Elliott lol), but it can never be used as my younger sisters boyfriend is Elliott pmsl.
I LOVE Toby for a boy, DP wont budge on it if we have another boy. He is a chef and cant get past some chef he knows with the same name and he doesnt like him lol.
Malachi he hates, too different for him. Basically I like unusual names, he likes traditional lol. Deciding DS's name was horrendous, lucky we didnt have a girl as we couldnt agree on anything. I'm amazed he came out with DS's name, and amazed I liked it as its a top 20 name lol (Xavier). Next baby will be a nightmare to name
Wow, why must men (except ~TT40~, lucky you) make name picking so hard on us ;)
There are so many fantastic names in here and a few I am going to throw at DH, which I am sure will be knocked back but hey, worth a try.
MLR, if your DH can't pick a name from that list I feel for you. That list has some great names.
Blessedatlast, I had a dog called Bonnie (actually had Bonnie and Clyde :)) and she was the best dog ever.
DH wanted Ferris (as in Bueller) and Mavis. I don't mind Mavis, but it would have been poor torture for either kid as our surname is the name of a rental car company that rhymes with both.
If DD had been a boy, she'd have been Vincent. She was supposed to be Elisabeth if she was a girl, but it doesn't suit her, so it's her middle name (but spelled Elizabeth :( )
I also love Audrey and Celeste and Leonard. oh, and Alice.
All boys here, so never got to use Emilia, Emma or Bridie. I adore all three girls names, so I would've had terrible trouble deciding on which one.
The boys names my hubby nixed were Brady and Riley. Interestingly enough, he happily agreed to Rory (DS3) after DS1 asked if we could name bub after a certain cartoon racing car ....
Where to start? DH won't let me actually call #2 Stormageddon, so that's just going to be the bumpling/internet name.
For a boy: Matthias, Jareth, Peregrin, Edward Christian (sooooo glad that's not DS's name now, given modern literature), Isambard, Doctor, Brigadier, Westley, Inago. DH vetoed all but Isambard and that would sound a bit odd with DS's name now, but given the age gap (ie DS will probably have moved out by the time Stormy is conceived) it may work. And I'm keeping Jareth, Peregrin, Westley and Inago on my name list in the vain hope I can use them.
For a girl (all DH-vetoed): Eliana, Elise, Elissa, Cielle, Catrin, Sian, Nerys, Moira, Tyra, Alliandra, Caitlyn, Xanthe, Adrienne, Imogene, Guinevere, Serena... plus about 500 more. There are some I know he has vetoed previously that I'm not writing here jic he changes his mind. And all the above are still on my name wish-list, he'll have to scrub them off again. And he will.
I always wanted to name my girl Mary-Anne after my great grandmother who took in her younger sibling while raising her own children in the Great Depression. But DH hated the name. As it is DD has Mary for a middle name (like the last 4 generations of girls on my family).
I also like Isabella, I liked it way before the Twilight craze, but because of Twilight I will never use it! And now DH best mate named his daughter Isabelle..
This is such a great thread,i too have written a few down for DH..
because like most of you, mine is a PITA.. worst thing is ishe isnt even giving me any names just sayiong no to mine lol
With DD we had 2 names picked out Alissa (which is her name) and Hannah Alyce.. because we had Hannah picked for DD (i used to call her both names while pregnant to get a feel for it and fell in love with both and decided to wait til she was born before deciding) so i cant use that Name now, iknow thats weird i just cant get past it.
We had Logan picked for a boy, for a bit there we would have used it for a girl too, but since falling pg (with out 2nd and last baby) we realised we had outgrown the name..
names DH literally laughed at:
Mackenzie
Ruby
Ivy
Mia
Zarlie (Zahlie)
Quinn (i have seriously fallen in love with this name.. might have to get myself a bird or something if he doesnt budge lol)
Hazel
Names im yet to show him:
Laicey
Harper
Sienna
Skye
Tahlie
Piper
Carlie
Lucy
...
still working on my list, trouble is we dont know what we are having yet.. i for some reason cant bring myself to really think of boys names.. partially because (i think) im convinced im not having a boy (or secretly hoping..)
I love Nico (Nee-ko) for a girl!
The host of snog, marry avoid, and ex Atomic Kitten Jenny Frost recently had twin girls
Nico and Blake!
