You could always use it as a middle name. I looked after a 2yr old boy who declared the name of his unborn brother to be "Fox in pyjama's" The parents gave the name Fox as a middle name once he was born.

I think of Sonic Hedgehog too.
I think it is a very cute nickname...in and out of the womb.
If you (or DH) like Sonic maybe something like Soini which is Finnish and fits with the Sonic nickname.
I also think of Sonic the hedgehog sorry.
please don't do it.
It's a pretty cool nickname, but I think I'd be looking for a name where it worked as a nickname.
If it was a name that holds meaning I'd maybe go the middle name route.
Usually my attitude is 'pretty much anything goes' with names; I've known friends with all sorts of pop culture or ethnic names that people just accept - if it's your name, it's your name. Even if it's a perhaps unwise name, you sort of giggle once and then you're used to it. So I'm vaguely surprised I'm hesitating at Sonic, but I am.
If you like it as a nickname though, we can help you think of a name to fit it. It is a kind of sweet story if the nickname your son gives bub influences your name choice. =)
Oh no, not a fan at all. Sorry
I thought this was a joke... No way.
I'll add another vote to help convince your DH!
Sonic is not a name I would take seriously, like other have said it sounds like a bit of a joke. Can you imagine being in a business meeting with Sonic trying to tell you how you can run your business better? It's a no from me.
maybe the ppl who said they like it think its cute that DS came up with the name, but as an actual name i dont like it sorry
Wonderful name for a pet. Not so much for a child.
If your uncertain about it I wouldn't use it, you don't want be feel hesitant in telling people your child's name! I gave my son an unusual middle name, and a traditional first name. Could work?
I too thought of the hedgehog. BUT it's growing on me! Sonny for short? lol, don't listen to me though, I named my son Axel. I like unusual names.
I must add, that one of my cousins was named after Thomas the tank engine by his older sibling. It would've been a different story though if it was Sonic the tank engine :)
yep I also thought of Sonic the hedgehog straight away as well and I don't even play computer games!
