I agree that Finn won't be too popular either. It is a great name :)

If it makes you feel any better FJ, I'm in the Irish Australian circles alot because of dancing and I only know ONE Finn, and he's the son of a dancing teacher. There is not one single Finn in Maddy's entire daycare centre, nor her one in Brisbane. You could always spell it as Fionn as well.
There's always Finbar or Fintan as variations too :) Finbar/Finn/Fintan means 'fair haired'. :)
Maz, Dean has been mentioned LOL, your one tuned in mumma! As well as Reid but DH wasn't keen on either of the names.
I don't think its that popular a name now, its later on that I am worried about.
Well its either going to be Finn or Iain. I really can't settle on Iain. I don;t hate it, I just don't see it as one of my kids names KWIM
Finn is lovely and goes with other names
I'd be happy to lend you Kian FJ! *LOL* :)
I know only one Finn - he is 16 mths old. I think that sometimes you can't be "prepared" for a name to take off in popularity, it just happens (unfortunately). I love the name Jye for this DS-2-be, but it seems to be getting more and more popular, and I don't really want to go down that road!
You could go with Finley as an alternative? I know Finlay has been suggested, but I would probably pronounce the 2 a bit differently to each other...
I dont think its that popular. I think Isla would be more popular. I know 2 Islas but no Finns. Anyway does it really matter? It's a great name and no matter what you call him you cant garentee he will never meet another one his age. If you love it, use it.
All my kids names were in the top 100. It didn't bother me, I chose their names because I liked them and they suited them, not based on how popular or not popular they were. And to this day I have only ever met one other child with the same name as one of my kids, and it was another Harry, who is the son of a friend of a friend. There were no other Harrisons at DS's kindy or in his prep class, and we do not know any people, friends or aquaintances, who have kids named Grace or Matilda. But then even if we did, it still wouldn't bother me - even if they share their name with other children, they are still unique as individuals.
I like the name Finn - my DS went to kindy with a Finn, and that is the first time I have ever heard the name. I think its lovely.
I think Finnian is a FANTASTIC name and you could have either Finn or Iain as names for him!
Can't wait to hear what you decide!
It wouldn't bother me one bit how popular my childs name is if i loved it!! With my 3rd we were trying to pick out of Kobi, Remy and Ella, clearly ella is far more popular than the other two but in the end it was our favourite. I also think that popularity in a name is a compliment, alot of people love it so thats a good thing to me. Finn is such a cute name, i really like it. Goodluck with your decision..:)
I think its too poplular. I asked on another forum & the feedback was heaps of Finns.
I know if I love the name it shouldn't matter but im not in love with enough to let go of it being poplular.
I like the idea of my kids having a name that isn't as used as more common names. I mean My sisters both have a Joshua & a Jacob & sorry but they are such over used names.
I think it may end up being Iain....
I like the name and don't know anyone called it IRL. Use it.
I think Finn is a great name and don't think you should worry about how popular the name might be now or in the future....if it's a name that you really like then why should it matter.
Goodluck , deciding on your lil man's name
