I always wanted for our kids to have "their own" initial, which wouldn't be the same as DH and me or their siblings, or our last name ...
But DS is Joshua, and DH and I have completely fallen in love with the name Judah as a first name ... so at the moment, the name is winning out over the intention of them having their own initial!
But unless and until we find a boy's name we like more (or if ziggy is a girl!) at the moment, it looks like we'll have two Js :)
Incidentially, I also like the names Jacqueline, Jessica, Julia and Jasper, but DH has vetoed all of those, so chances are, if ziggy is a girl, she will not be a J ;)
My name begins with C, and so did my sister's name
My two brothers both have names beginning with J.
It was J, C, J, C...
Confusing with mail growing up, but now nobody gets mail, so it doesn't matter anymore I guess...
I don't really mind it but it does remind me of the dr seuss story "too many daves"
"Did I ever tell you that Mrs McCave, had 23 sons and she named them all Dave"
we have the same name thing going on with the males but instead of using as DS1 first name- we gave him two middle names, but reversed each generation
so its Name 1 , Name 2, Surname- great grandfather
Name 2, Name 1, Same surname- grandfather
Name 1, Name 2, Same surname- father (my DH)
Own Name, Name 2, Name 1 , Same surname- my son
are you totally confused now ??? LOL
in other words every 2nd generation have exactly the same names, and the ones in between have the same names but reverse order
well we are a S family, not intentional in any way!
DH is Shannon
Im a Sam(antha)
DD is Summah
Summah just happened to be the only name DH liked that i agreed with so thats what she got.... our middle initals are all different, C M and J... mail will be interesting when DD is a bit older
im a bit torn for if we have another one, id feel bad if next child felt left out without a S name, but i also dont want ppl to think we deliberatly had a all S family....
I get it - I have friends where something similar happened for the male siblings with every generation. The first born boy was Charles and the next Francis - then when Charles had boys the first born was Francis and second Charles; for F the first born was C and the second F.
Fortunately the brothers I know both had 3 girls each and broke the cycle  They were both rapt!
My bestie is Melissa, with twins Madisyn and Mackenzie, and her partner is Mark (although he came along after the kids)
Her family has three S's and two R's and it was a pain in the butt sorting the mail!
Dh and I are both B, ds is P and dh isn't keen on another P name... But I suppose if you like certain names you go with it...
My best friend in primary school was one of three daughters and their first names all started with 'Z'. Random hey!!
why bother? would not do it myself, not a fan. However everyone is different :-) if my children had same initial it would be coincidence not because I set out for them all to have names beginning with same letter.
DD1 is Stephanie and DD2 is Caitlin
I hate it.
Dh comes from a family with many generations of all the boys with J names. I agreed to name our first son J as long as that name was Jude, but said no subsequent sons would be J. I love the name Jude, but I kinda wish I hadn't agreed to that stupid family tradition.
Oh wells.
