DF chose DD's 1st name and we gave her my middle name. We didn't pick DD's name based on meanings.
Sophie Louise:
Sophie (Sophia) means: greek- wisdom and Louise means: teutonic (?)- a famous warrior maiden. The female form of Louis.
DD's name definately suits her, she seems to already think she knows everything and likes to argue :lol:
Maxwell Benjamin:
Maxwell: Great Spring (Max's Well) - but ithis is actually my maiden name so that is where it gets is meaning really. Benjamin - Son of my Right Hand - but really is just DH name to us :) He suits his name, but not by it's meaning.
Darcie Elizabeth:
Darcie: Dark (or Of the Dark) Well at the moment she is a child 'of th dark' coz she keeps waking up too much at night! When initially chosing it I thought of it as in dark features, hair, eyes etc. Thought for sure she'd come out looking like Max (and me ;)) But NOOOO she is a blondie like her Dad, so no her meaning of her name as I'd thought of it doesn't fit! Elizabeth - named after her aunty :)
Isaac - Hebrew meaning laughter
He's always been a very happy little boy and laughs alot. He has also brought alot of laughter into our lives. So yes it's very fitting.
Neil - Gaelic; from Niall.
Meaning: champion/ passionate/ "cloud".
I think we'll have to wait a bit longer to find out if this suits him or not. He does like giving lots of cuddles and kisses though.
Not too sure what to make of "cloud".
We picked Isaac because it was the only name we agreed on and Neil as it is DF's and FIL's middle name and we wanted to carry on the tradition. I dont think we'd even looked up the meanings until now.
