Marcelle and Irene
Mine were
Florence (mum's mother)
Dorothy (dad's mother)
DD has got my nana Flo's name as one of her middle names
Oh I'm a nurse who used to work in a nursing home before becoming a SAHM. I've come across some gorgeous old names that you just don't hear anymore! However I just can't think of any of the top of my head lol.
My grandmothers were named Babette (Elizabeth) and Beryl Grace. One of my DH's was named Gladys.
Irene and Jean :)
My grandmother was Elaine and her mother was called Hazel. My DD has Hazel as a middle name as my g.grandmother was very special to me.
One of DH's grandmothers was Eileen and the other is Phylis.
Oh and one of my DH's was Eva which I think is gorgeous.
My bub is Archie which I later found out is the name of my grandads uncle.
Patricia Maude (everyone called her Rella.. no idea why) & my other grandmother was Gladys
Lucy on my mothers side and Leontine on my fathers side. If we ever have a daughter she will have Leontine as a mn.
On the inlaw side; one grandmother is Audrey and one is Wendy (her real first name is Maxine).
Lily and Betty (Elizabeth)
I also had great aunts Margaret, Marie and Evelyn
My nanna's were Neta, Grace, and Colleen (stepnan). When we found out we are having a girl we decided on the name Alice and when i told my dad he was pretty chuffed, i asked him why and he said that was his mums name. I said i thought your mums name was Grace (which we also liked) and he said that her name was Alice Grace but everyone called her Grace. She died when he was young so i had no idea!
Alice is meant to be i think:lol:
Joyce on mums side & Gwladys (Gladis -welsh) on Dads side.
My nan is Erna Margaret and her sister is Melva
Df was doris and gwenith
Not that I would use any mentioned but tossing up Margaret as possible middle name
Merle (1940s) - Gma
Muriel (1910s) - G Gma
Gwenyth was known as Gwen (1920s) - G Nanna
Joan, Nancy, Leticia (Lettie) are from DHs side.
Ours were:
Zora on my dad's side
Connie on my mum's side
Zora is my Julia's middle name and if we have a girl, hopefully Connie will be her middle name too.
Mine were Pamela (Pam) and Barbara (Barb). Also had great-aunts Mary & Marlene.
I'm not using either of my grand-parent's names, but my Dad & brother and DH's dad all have James as a middle name so we'll use that as a middle name for a boy. Plus DH's mum's name is Mary and that just happens to be my Mum's middle name, so we'll use Mary as a middle name for a girl. Made it very easy for us!
Joyce and Alice for my Grandmothers and Dorothy and Mary for my great grandmothers.
I do love Evelyn too
My nan was Ida Mary-Ellen
