LOVE that green themrs!
Lovely colour - my ergo is boring old black :)
I still use my pram sometimes....mostly for piling full of random stuff though!
The Ergo is great for their hips. they make infant inserts that are made to help them and once they grow out of them they use the bottom portion :)
mrs - do you use the insert now? my ergo has gone awol and i am doing a mega search for it atm. i don't have an infant insert so not sure if ds will be ok now or if it will have to wait few months. i am just using close carrier now, but loving all the pics and would love to get bit more adventurous.
Hi ladies, coming in for some advice on your favourite carrier. I had a ring sling (think that's what they're called?) for DS but I wasn't confident using it at that time. I do like the style of the one the Mrs has in her photo but :dunno: what are comfy and whats not..
HotI I stopped using the infant insert in the ergo sport around 3 months of age - mind you, DS has excellent head control and is not a small baby by any stretch of the imagination  Try him out in it (when you find it!) and see how you go, I've also heard that a rolled up terry flat or small towel in the bottom is a suitable option if they need boosting up a little.
As for favourite carrier - I'd have to go the beco butterfly2. Way more adjustable than the ergo, more comfortable and has a built in newborn insert whereas they have to be bought separately with the ergos. Plus the becos have nicer patterns :)
NAAAAWWWW. love all the beautiful squishes!
Re the ergo, I *think* they need to be big enough to sit in it legs out and have good enough head/neck control to hold themselves up. Unlike some other SSCs the head support isn't too great as it's a fairly short body. The Becos, Manduca, Olive&Applesauce and some others have inbuilt newborn harnesses so can be used from birth without additional items. So, Schonell, if you like that sort of thing you might want to consider one of these other brands. The prices are all fairly similar, I think. The ergo is an option, also. maybe look at the colours/patterns available and see which you prefer :)
we took out the pillow of the Ergo infant insert and are just using that now. It helps so that her tailbone isnt affected. you can also use (like someone mentioned) a towel orsomething.
DD fit in the ergo from 3 months :)
More pics please :)
Ok i'm crap at the back carry with a woven wrap. Anyone got any hints or tips for me please :)
I've a girasol 3.6m & 4.6m
Thanks :)
what are you trying to do cheshire?
Ruck with the 3.6m? There's a rucksack tutorial linked in this thread - https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ube-58821.html
Tips for rucking -
Get a good seat. The method demonstrated in the above tute is good. I tuck the top rails under my chin, rather than in teeth. Find that easier. But then you can reach back with both hands and really yank the seat up nice and deep.
Tighten across the wrap - from top to bottom rail. Don't just tighten the rails. The pixie curl video for the double hammock (also in that thread) demonstrates this.
If i do a simple rucksack carry do i use the shorter wrap?
I use my shorter wraps for simple ruck sack Cheshire, but you don't have to. You'd need the longer one for the double hammock I think.
The ruck sack is easier to do but the double hammock was more reassuring for me when I started back carrying. There's other back carry variations that might work for you too (YouTube and Google can show you plenty). Once I'd mastered the double hammock I got more proficient at ruck sack.
