My DD2 is 11mo and I've essentially had her sick since March with colds and a bout of tonsilitis. Dr says that DD1 is probably bringing bugs home from school and DD2 is catching them...
So DD2 is still in the process of getting her first teeth. The two front bottom ones have now been visible for a month while the holes actually opened about 9 days before the teeth could even be seen. Both teeth are still no more than about 1-2mm out of the gum and just don't seem to want to come up. The Dr has said he could feel the rest of her teeth under her gums also. DD1 got her first teeth at 6 months and they just came up straight away, no messing around. I don't know why these ones are taking so long.
DD2 is also not eating. Today she has eaten about 2 teaspoons of food all day and that was not voluntarily. She is having bottles still but no food. I have begun the process of switching her from formula to cows milk but all these issues started awhile before I've begun this switch. When DD2 does eat normally she is so difficult to get her to eat. She was over 7 months before she begun having solids regularly because she would clench her mouth closed and refused any type of food. She will not self feed. I can put 8 items on her table, say 6 food items and 2 non-edible items and the only items she even gets close to her mouth are the non-edibles. The food items get squished and played with but she most of the time will not even give them a try at tasting. Some days she will eat food i make her but if it's lumpy she won't eat it and clenches her mouth closed. She also will refuse food if it's gone cold. There is 1 or 2 store bought meals i can get her to eat but they are 100% puree (6 month + range). She will eat yoghurt and puree fruit but that is all. I don't know why she won't eat. I'm wasting so much food. I know so many ppl with kids the same age and their kids are eating so much more variety and mostly exactly what the parents eat but DD2 refuses, won't chew chunky stuff and chokes on it so I end up giving her some puree food, which even now she is refusing.
The last 4 or so days she has also not been sleeping like normal. She is having 2 x 40min naps and that is it. She normally has 2 x 2+ hr sleeps so she is cranky and whingy and just looks like she needs more sleep. On Friday i ended up giving her 3 x naps just because she was so cranky. I don't know why she is waking after 40 mins and not resettling like she normally does. She is still sleeping through of a night time.
So I guess I'm after suggestions on 1) the teeth situation - I know I can't force them out but has anyone else experienced similar?? 2) Eating - I'm just worried I'm going to have a very fussy eater on my hands - DD1 is fussy but at least I have some food major foods she will eat like red meat & chicken, pasta etc and then lastly 3) sleep issues - why has she stopped napping??
I am assuming that this is all possibly being caused by the fact she has been sick on/off for so long and probably also teething but I'm not sure what to do about it.
