Yes, same here - DD has strawberry blond/reddish hair and we have NO IDEA where it came from.
People often comment on it especially as I have very dark brown/black hair which I thought would 'trump' DP's brown hair. We always tell people we'll get around to having a DNA test for DD one day :)
I never, ever imagined having a child with anything other than dark brown hair so DD's hair colour was a complete surprise. Love it though and goes really well with her brown eyes.
AND it's a bit curly too when DP and I both have very straight hair.

I have a cheeky, bad tempered red head with wicked curls. He loves his red hair but Daddy is mean and teases him about it. My other two boys are brunette and black haired.
I personally like being a curly red head so I encourage him to as well. Easy way to be different!
You know, i joked all pregnancy with Orson that wouldnt it be funny if he came out a redhead. And well he did. That nice golden red. It started off blonde when he was born and has turned red as the motnhs have gone by. Its also starting to ringlet where his cowlick is at the front, so gorgeous. Has the snow white skin and steel blue eyes to match.
My ds had ginger red hair but now it has gone golden blonde. I love his hair its so thick, wild and curly.
Fiona ... my sister had a copper- red haired bub & she too thought they wouldn't be able to so she looked into it ... one of her friends studied Genetics (i think) and said in order to have a red-haired child both parents (say that don't have red-hair themselves) of that child must EACH have a red-haired relative, even generations back ... i found this very interesting ;) ... My Mum confirmed OUR great-great-grandmother had red hair !!
*** Hey Fiona just thought i'd add ... both my parents have very straight hair yet they had two DD's (including me) with very curly hair (turns out the only relo that had curly hair was my Grandfather (my Dad's father) !!!
