I regret using anything but warm water on my DS when he was born - he ended up having incredibly sensitive skin and lots of rashes, and almost everything was just too harsh. My thought is newborn skin doesn't need any products. Through trial and error, we finally found QV Bath Oil to be the gentlest for him. When we have another bub, I won't be using any products in the bath until he or she is a little older.
As for nappies, we've used Huggies. Tried Baby Love and Aldi Mamia, but just didn't suit our DS.
Hope that helps.
I only ever used Johnson's baby products on my kids and still do (eldest nearly 8). Huggies I used day and night until 3 months, then only at night. DD3 I use Babylove, Snugglers, Aldi or Woolworths 'Once apon a time' brand
I only used water for the first few months. Then if bub was dry I would rub a small amount of oil on after, meant we had a nice massage too. They don't need soap or fancy products.
As for nappies....modern cloth is my choice
For the first few months i used warm water and coconut oil.
Both my kids have severe eczema so have only been using qv bath oil or coconut oil.
Have only used huggies due to dd sensitive skin as i found it wickers away moisture the fastest.
All you need for baths is warm water, no need for soaps and so on.
Yep, we just used water originally. My eldest has eczema now so we use QV when it flairs up, otherwise just water still.
Nappies we used cloth as it was cheaper for me in the long run as a single parent, after the initial outlay I didn't have to worry where I would find the money for nappies from week to week. I only brought the nappies on sale and originally just used flats with covers to get us by.
They don't need soap, thankfully they don't really get dirty!
Nappies are all much of a muchness I think, unless you go for the low-chemical versions or cloth.
