My PIL bought DD a stack of bath toys for her first Christmas, I haven't had the heart to tell them we chucked most of them as they were loaded with mould in a short amount of time. I replaced them with toys that can't fill/hold with water, cups, funnels, solid ducks, watering cans etc and they keep her happy and mould free. But I was fortunate that she was young enough to not even notice the old switcheroo....

Haven't had a chance to read all the posts, so sorry if I'm repeating anything...
Every 3 months or so I soak all the bath toys overnight in a bucket of bleach and water. I make sure that the squirty ones suck up all the liquid so that it's in there and kills of the germs overnight. You have to give them a really good rinse afterwards to get rid of all the bleach and it is a PITA, but it works.
