    DD playing with DS's doodie

I know this is probably a bit of a funny question but I'm not sure what to do or even if I need to do something.
The last few nights in the bath DD has started poking DS's doodle. Basically he stands up and she pokes it, he giggles sits down again, stops giggling and stands up again and so the whole thing starts again.
I don't know if I should just let them go or should I be stopping her and telling her not to play with his doodle?
Sorry for the weird question everyone. I'm just not sure what to go is IYKWIM?

    TIA

That sounds quite cute but I'd probably discourage it. I woudln't tell her not to as such or make a huge fuss over it but I'd probably divert her attention away from it.

Like tinks i would probably divert her attention then maybe have a little chat with them seperately about people not touching their private parts... kids can be so hard.. DD1 is going through the girl has a ginny and boys have a doodle stage and it makes DP uncomfortable that she is 'looking' but it is all a part of nature.. there is no harm being done them 'looking' but i would try and divert her attention.

Hah, DD#2 wants to play with my partner's in the bath. "I need to play with this" and he has to do the 'tuck' and tell her we don't play with that. She's fine with that and resumes playing with the other 3 million toys in the bath.

We're coming out of freeeeeeeeezing cold winter into warmer weather so no more having really nice warm deep baths with the toddler lol

Maybe instead of a straight "You're not allowed to do that", maybe a "That belongs to DS so it's his to touch only" type of thing???

That way she can still be interested in the physical biology of things - as all kids are - but not feel guilty about it?

I am not sure...I obviously don't have kids old enough to be showing that type of interest yet, but I am just going on what I have experienced from working in primary schools with young boys.

It sounds like normal healthy toddler behaviour to me. Definitely nothing to be worried about but like you said, diverting her attention from it to something else is a good start.

I would say to her "yes that's DS's penis (or whatever word you use for it) that's for him to touch only.... like you have your's to touch, see?" something like that? to let her know its normal to be curious and to touch however it belongs to DS and not hers to play with. Eventually she will understand. Just one of those phases I'd say

I wonder if there is a book you can buy that will help explain it better to her?

Thanks ladies. That is the path I've been going. I tell her that only Will is allowed to touch his penis and only DD is allowed to touch her ginnie and we don't touch each others. DS definitely does help matters when he giggles, laughs and follows her around the bath poking it himself. They are so damn cute. I'll just keep perserving. Ah the things I never thought I'd be doing/talking about, LOL!!!

Dan we have the same thing happening here hun and we just repeat, "don't touch darling that is private, we shouldn't touch other people's private parts" etc. She sort of gets it most of the time and he is busy playing with it himself anyway Ahhh the joys of toddlers.

I would suggest a book called 'everyones got a bottom' huggies book club sell it.

It is wriitten for children so explains to them in a age appropriate way these kind of issues. It address's alot of the issue we as parents find hard to talk to younger kids about.. its a GREAT book
