Not usually. I was still up with the twins nightly until they were about 4 but now they all tend to sleep through apart from when they are ill. I don't allow them in my bed though so they have no real reason to come in to my bedroom unless there is a nightmare or illness.
DD 3.5 - rarely - if she can't find her water or needs the toilet (she has just moved to top bunk and I don't want her getting down on her own in the night yet). She sleep talks alot I know because now am often in their room tending to DS - but she seems rarely to actually wake herself up properly.
DD1 (almost 4) sleeps all night most of the time and doesn't usually need to get up for the toilet. A couple of nights a week she might wake and come into our bed but I usually don't even notice until the morning. Or sometimes she is woken by DD2 who is in the same room.
DD2 mostly sleeps through now as well. She might wake 3 times a week but will just get in bed with us for a cuddle and go back to sleep.
DD who is 5 - yup mostly bad dreams or wanting to come in our bed or me going to sleep in her bed. Usually 1 wake up.
DS who is 3 - very rarely unless sick or uncomfortable
I would if needed but since she started sleeping through (2yrs 9mo) she rarely needs tending to. When she first night trained, we left a potty in her room so she didnt need to navigate to the bathroom but now (3yrs 11mo) she is fine to get to the bathroom alone although we are talking maybe once every three weeks that she needs to and we only find out in the morning lol. She hasnt woken yet to a bad dream and once woken feeling sick.
She coslept in our bed till 2 and then our room till she slept through. Im actually really surprised she has never wanted back in, not even now DD2 has been in with us. She was as a baby/toddler a frequent night waker and fed to sleep till weaning (3yrs 3mo) but has never really had sleep issues in that she never faught sleep or was much trouble to get to sleep.
Dd has finally started sleeping through now. She occasionally hops into bed with us in the early hours. My other children are good night sleepers. Getting them to sleep however is a whole other story.
DS2 comes into my bed at about 3am most nights. It doesn't wake me.
DS1 comes and jumps into bed too if he needs any tending.
Neither of them expect me to go to their room and most nights they can jump in and snuggle up and it won't wake me (unless they sleep fight *sigh*).
DD 5 usually comes into bed with us after midnight, sometimes she cries due to a bad dream or occassionally she falls out of bed and wakes crying so I tend to her. She takes herself to the toilet but won't get a drink of water herself, she wakes me for that.
Liebs is 6 and he still wakes in the night. Usually once, sometimes twice. Sometimes he sleeps through. I'm out of bed in the small hours 5 times I week, I would estimate. (DH a LOT less so.)
Causes include nightmares, needing water, needing the loo, eczema or just needing a cuddle.
Thanks to everyone for posting, I really struggle with having sleep deprivation still and you have made me feel not as isolated. xxx
If my kids need me I'm up and there....regardless of how many times or how old. Bad dreams, storms and things that go bump in the night don't care how old you are!
DS2 is almost 3 and after listening to his rendition of an Aria in the wee hours this morning I went in to him but most times he will come in to us. I usually just give him a drink of water, a trip to the toilet and back to bed.
DS1 is almost 18.....we don't have to get up to him anymore.... ;)

DS 1 is 4.5 - rarely wakes, unless he's having asthma troubles, but I often change his sheets during the night *sigh*.
DS 2 is 3 and wakes usually twice a night 5 nights a week. I have to walk him back to bed. He won't sleep with me - just chats and plays with me. So I walk him back and help him resettle. Then I check on DS 1, and change his sheets.
DH rarely goes. He doesn't even notice I'm up with them. But it's ok, I think it's fair in our situation.
DS (2) has started waking up at night again, DH either goes to sleep in his bed with him, brings him to me and we all sleep in the big bed, or brings him to me and goes to sleep in his bed. DH has been getting up to him since I got pregnant, I had to stay awake to bf DS to sleep, so it seemed fair that DH had to go get him then he could go straight to sleep but I'd be awake for while longer.
We'd be fine if DS wandered in to sleep with us, but he's in a sleeping bag so it would be a very thumpy trip down the hallway.
I feel like I've been spoilt after reading all these replies. DS has been sleeping through (13 hours) since 6 months old. He's now 2.5 and I only remember having to get up once... I have no idea why he was crying. I think just a bad dream, I gave him a cuddle and that was it, he went back to sleep.
Yes, but I don't get out of bed to do it as DD still sleeps with me. She's only just over 2, though. DS I get up to occasionally. usually just if his daddy sleeps through the yelling.
