The only way i can get to cut DD's nails is if i promise to paint them! A good friend bought her a bottle of non-toxic nailpolish that washes off by itself after a couple of rinses under water. When DS was tiny DD used it to paint his toenails! He wasn't at a toesucking age yet thankfully :)
DD1 does Pie's nails every now & again, has done for a while.. I really can't remember if she did them when she was that little or not, but maybe... she grew out of toe chewing a while back.
Agree with PP's, more than likely just for fun? At elast it wasn't full war paint, you know, eyeshadow, blush & lippy
My dd1 loves nail polish it has to be all different bright colours :-) She has so much fun, I even let her do mummies :-) And DD2 comes and gets hers done now too :-)
I have only recently started painting DD1's nails but she was 3 in october and she absolutely loves it. I wouldn't do DD2's nails at her age (she's 8 months) and to be honest she wouldn't sit still long enough anyway. If she's interested when she's over 2 then i think its fine.
After I posted in here yesterday, DD1 brought a friend home from school and they wanted to paint their toe nails. DD2 sat between them and watched carefully as they painted theirs, then picked out a colour for herself and the girls painted her toe nails. It is all a bit of fun and washes off very quickly with the amount of crawling she does.
I paint DD1's fingernails sometimes and have done since around her second birthday. She loves it. I tend to just use pale nail polish though.
I have thought about painting DD2's toenails though she is 15 months now but I would have done it younger, I just haven't had the time. I guess it's what you're used to - I've seen other people with painted toe nails on a baby so I don't think it's all that odd. I actually think it's kind of cute :hide:
I honestly don't see a problem with it :hide:
But that's just my opinion :)
