Wow! If baby wipes do this - imagine what it does to thier skin!!

Donna, I use the Little Angel wipes from Big W- about$15 for a box of 480- then rinse them thoroughlu under wtaer before i use them. Stops the kids getting nappy rash, and is a nice half way mark with chemicals :) (yep, I am so lazy. My only problem with flannels is keeping the food ones seperate from the poo ones).

hmm - chucking the packet MIL bought me... along with the talc powder. She bought me a glass baby bottle though! :D

i wouldnt chuck them entreat...they are handy for your nappy bag even if u wont use them at home

If you'd rather not go cloth, try Nature Babycare - their wipes and nappies contain far fewer toxic chemicals than the mainstream brands, and they are available in a regular supermarket.

Thanks JB, I'll keep an eye out for them, especially once ds toilet trains and I'm not using quite so many.

When I was clowning, Huggies wipes were the thing for getting off clown make-up, which was grease paint set with talc- nothing else got it to budge.

I use the sensitive huggies baby wipe, but day care use something else and DS bottom is always red after being there. Never really thought about how harsh they might be.

You know what scares the crap out of me? Seeing that where the bottle of toddler-suitable aeroguard had leaked onto the window sill in the kitchen had stripped all the paint off! I kid you not! It was stripped right back to very nearly the timber itself. I couldn't believe it and wont use it on the kids now. I would rather they have a few mozzie bites than that stuff on their skin.

I jsut bought the Gaia ones are they just as bad????? We used to use nature babycare but went to Gaia cause its Australian owend???

For getting stains off a child, I don't worry at the changing time so long as they are clean with warm water. When DS has a bath I use Oilatum in there for his eczema and that gets him clean. Having said that, he doesn't stain his skin too easily.
