Sam, thats wonderful that you have seen an improvement since implementing the advice you were given im sure if you keep going with it bubby will also over time get used to this and will begin to settle and go to sleep rather then crying himself to sleep. Your right we all have our good days and our bad days and sometimes it does get all too much for us but please remember we are all here for you and know how you feel as most of us have been through this at some stage or another. Just remember no matter how bad a day your having that you are a awesome Mummy and your doing the best you possibly can.
Take care darl, have been thinking about you lots the past day or two

DS cries when going to sleep, and he has to be put down too, otherwise it escalates. If I have changed, fed, and he won't take a dummy and still crying, off to bed he goes. Sometimes it is a minute, sometimes 10, but most times he will be off to sleep, (if he doesn't then we get up for 5 mins and try again). I check him every min or two, but most times the eyes are shut, thumb stuck in mouth and other arm covering his eyes, so I let him go,he normally grizzles, with the odd squeal.
I just wish I realised the difference between a grizzle and a cry when DD was that age. Maybe I wouldn't have the sleep problems I have with her. ;)

Sambo I really feel for you.
My DS is 16 months now and still has silent reflux. I do remember the early days so clearly. The constant crying and throw a hernia amongst the mix. It was hell. I know you said your bub doesn't have reflux, however some great advice given to me, which I cling to, is when they are 30 they wont be doing this. So just know it can only get easier.
Good luck with your bub.
