Jac, it is possible to order the vaccination from OS to be given seperately. You will need a Dr or maybe a pharmacy to order them for you.
My sister manages a pharmacy. I could ask her to find out for me but she's prettty busy so she might forget.

hello... what an interesting thread, I was on BB to post a question, however I will post it her as well:
I have a friend who would like to give her child the MMR seperately, does anyone know anyone in Sydney who gives these vac's seperately? She is also willing to fly anywhere in the country to get this?

hi yup you can give them separetly but you will have to import them, usually from the UK, and get a sympathetic dr to administer/organise this.

I still haven't immunised River, mostly because I'm wary of what the vaccinations contain. I don't want to inject him with ingredients I don't fully understand.
I've found it impossible to find information that isn't propaganda or scare-tactics, so it's slow going trying to sort the fact from the bias.
I do feel a little bad that I'm not contributing to the 'greater good' of society's health.
I'm very motivated to breastfeed at least til 12months, if not longer because I know my antibodies help River's immune system.
So yeah, that's where I'm at, so far, but I'm constantly trying to learn more in case I do decide to immunise River in some way. :)
I fully agree. I started looking into the whole to immunise or not to immunise debate prior to even having a partner to get pg with. In the end I went with my gut and the personal info from my life that I felt significant.:
Basically my immune system is almost non existent so even if I were to bf over a prolonged period there wouldn't be the anti-body benefits that most mothers can offer. Secondly, had I not had immunisations as a child and kept them updated I would have died from whooping cough complications in my early 20's. I buy into the arguement that the immunised diseases are in decline due to immunisation rates not just changes to the standard of living.
I do not debunk the links between autism and immunisation. In fact it was one of my biggest fears, especially as DD's brother has Aspergers. I have felt sick with fear for 72 hours after ever single vaccination my DD has had.
Currently she is 18 1/2 mths and I have not given her the chickenpox vaccination. I am not sure I will. It definately wont be for quite a few weeks as she is unwell and I want her completely well before any vaccinations.
Basically I got my DD vaccinated for "my" peace of mind. For me that seemed the safest option.
I've found a book called "raising a vaccine free child" by Wendy Lydall to be really interesting, helpful and useful as it also discusses the do's and don'ts for dealing with a child that had a childhood illness.

This list is a bit simplistic - just a quick example the human diploid cells are cells that are grown in a lab. The first of these cells was grown in the 60's (or maybe it was the 50's) from an aborted fetus but since then they have been lab gown. I don't believe they use them in Australia.
Some of these ingredients are no longer used in vaccines and others are in quantities smaller than you would breath in on a walk down an average city street.

We don't vaccinate either . Josh has been but thats it. I was very young then and did not know half the stuff I know now. And it sickens me to think that such lethal stuff went into my sons little body back then. I clicked n that link kelly gave us and I thought how can anyone read that and not be concerned about their childs insides. Surley such toxic crap has to do something to a newly grown body of a baby! And it was a interesting read and makes so much sense as well, and to think it vax's that "Could" cause cancer later on or alzemiers (cant spell) wow that is scary.
I respect those that do have that done though, I just choose not to put that toxic stuff into my own children. BUT that said my hubbie and I wwre talking last night and think that the polio one is needed for them.Only the polio though! Even then it scares me stiff.
Its a tricky one isnt it Soul. I actually know a lady though who contracted polio from the vaccine, granted shes in her 40s, and its only a mild dose she contracted, but when she gets sick and tired, she walks with a limp.

We debated the polio one as well... I think mainly because there was an outbreak in Brissy this year and we started feeling quite worried as that was the only homeopathic vaccination we didn't use.
Matilda had some vaccinations and they were delayed because of my fear of some of the diseases... unfortunately so because we just got a result back from a hair analysis and she has heavy metal toxicity.

You know, I'm not entirely sure. She had a hair analysis done by the allergy specialist because he thought there was something more going on with her. She's allergic to cows milk which has affected her guts & the way she absorbs what is going into her body. So he thinks the allergy caused her body to not absorb the vaccinations properly & to absorb the heavy metals.
He sent me an email with that result a few days ago, so I have to find out what to do about it now. I *think* there is something you can take orally to help counteract the toxins... but I have to see him to find out more.
Lindsay, I wouldn't advise you either way. It's a choice you need to make based on your own research. I chose to get them because when I weigh up the risks from the vaccinations against the risks posed by the dieseases I think that the diseases pose a greater risk. Others think that the vaccinations pose a greater risk. We all make our choices based on the love we have for our children and what we percieve to be thier best interests. It's one of those issues where there is no right or wrong answer.
I delayed and seperated thier vaccinations so they didn't get the whole load at once.

I was never keen on getting needles for Chelsea...but in the end.. its for her health and my 'at least i know ive tried to protect her' emotions. I went thru all the 'no need to do it's' with DH, but now glad i did and will continue.
