I got an email today saying 4.9%.
Mine is closer to 10% want to look at changing or dropping our level of cover but dd1 may need an operation soon so will do it after that.
wow Olive, you're lucky! We got our letter today and ours has gone up by 12+%
Still waiting on our letter, but $231 a year. Ouch
We haven't heard anything from ours, yet, but these increases are scary! If ours goes up as much as others I have no idea if we can afford to keep our insurance
Haven't heard from ours yet. I may ring tomorrow but with increases like these it may not be something we'll be able to keep. We might have to drop a level. Why the increase anyway?
I rang mine today because we haven't seen the letter either. I don't know if we can afford it either
Haven't received any letter...might follow up, thanks.
8.3% here An extra $26.95 per month
Our monthly premium is now $352, we have top cover for everything. In the last 5 years though we have claimed IVF x2, 2 pregnancies, OB + Priv Hosp, Dental, Regular Chiro and Physio, DHs Apendix, wisdom teeth and recent vasectomy so are probably ahead...... for now! We also get the full cost of our Ambo cover rebated.
I was googling when I got our rate increase the other day (after I swore at the price rise LOL), I found a good article about the rising costs year on year and basically there are three main reasons PHI are continuing to rise
~Ageing Population putting more stress/demand on healthcare
~Increase of conditions such as obesity, diabetes and heart disease adding to health costs - as often individuals have other health concerns as a result - eg especially from obesity
~Improved technology used in medicine - its costly!
While I'll continue to pay it while we are supporting kids through to late teens, I'll still b!tch and moan about the cost Apparently the average cost for families for PHI is $3500+ per year!! Ours cracks the $4K mark!!
Ours is 10%. We don't have extras, just hospital cover. Lifted from $184 to $205.
We have basic hospital and extras, all hospital fees covered except part of anesthetist fees, dental they cover 100% of scheduled fee once a year for exam clean and a few other things, and 80% the second yearly visit, I get 65% back on other minor dental stuff, I also use osteo lots.
Ours is going from $139.65 -$146.95...up $7.30 a month.
think I might drop our hospital level. we've got top atm which covers OBs etc which we def don't need anymore! ours has gone from 301.25 per month to 337.50
Nearly 10% for us. From $238 to $260 a month.
I did just find out though that you can pay up to 12 months in advance at your current rate before April 1 without being affected by the increase.
I'm with HIF, if you change to them let me know as I get a referral bonus lol
