Thumbs up Question about Centrelink - Yearly income - PPL

hey all, i'm just not sure on what to do. i'm currently getting Paid Parental Leave which started August 2014 & ends on December 1st 2014. so when I informed Centrelink of our yearly taxable income I put myself at $11,000 & hubby at $57,000.

once I get my last payment of Paid Parental Leave which ends in a week, do I change my earnings to $0? so then we will qualify for Family Tax A, B & Rent Assistance? or do I need to leave it until the next financial year?

I went online today & did the estimate calculator families income & didn't include my $11,000 & it came to a total of $422.80. we're currently only getting $185.22?

    any info would be appreciated

They want to know your estimate of what you are going to earn in the whole tax year - so you can never change an estimate from 11,000 to 0 within a financial year unless you didn't actually earn the 11,000 - IYKWIM. So if you have earned 11,000 this financial year then you leave it at 11,000 until next financial year, when you will submit a new estimate of what you think you will earn next financial year.

The ppl needs to stay there til July next year. Your FTB will go up a little when ppl stops (you can't receive ppl and part b together). There are a number of reasons your payment may be less than the estimator says and the only way to confirm is to talk to someone. Off the top of my head I'm wondering if you have provided your rent verification to clink?

Honestly, I'd be suggesting you run the estimator again. Make sure you don't tick that you are receiving an income support payment (ppl is not an income support payment). The 422 sounds like it is saying you are entitled to the full amount of FTBa and rent assistance. And your income does not entitle you to that so I would think you've ticked the box to say you are in receipt of income support

thanks for that . i have requested that centrelink contact me, just wanted to ask on here anyway x. i did run the estimator again, & i definitely clicked 'no' to income support. i entered only hubbys taxable income of $58,000 & we're entitled to $422. i'm assuming once my PPL has stopped & the new financial year has started, it'll go up to roughly that *(& yes we have supplied our rent certificate)

You must be coding something incorrectly. On those incomes (11 and 58), and getting your max rent assistance (assumption) you'd be entitled to less than 300 per fortnight
    110 ish part a
    105 ish part b
About 5 in clean energy supplements
    70 ish rent assistance.

422 would be your amount if you put yourself at zero income. Which won't be right until next July...
