13 August 2011 - Santosha's little boy has arrived!!!!!!

Thanks so much lovely ladies. Still kind of glowing / shellshocked here. Like I said in the meet-up thread, i was pretty sure it was just pre-labour and ended up fizzling out by midday. Was beginning to wonder whether I'd cancelled for nothing... then 3pm waters broke, regular contractions by about 4:15 and bubs arrived at 6:45!

So yes, PZ, that joke about you having to make a road-side delivery wasn't so far off at all!! We'll have to have another meet-up very soon so I can meet you all and introduce bubs.

Little man - now named Owen - is doing fabulously. He weighed 3.91kg (8pds, 6oz) so was a great size for 36+5. He's feeding like a crazy-thing (it's very cute as he's a bit frenzied about the whole thing... "GIMMMMEEEEE!!!!!"), and is chubby, healthy and alert which is a HUGE relief after thinking that he was still perhaps a little early. So nice to escape the world of SCN this time and really quite surreal to be able to discharge after four hours and take him home to bed.
