Arthur is my wife's dad's name. Andrew is my Dads name. So it's Arthur Andrew.
Boys names are hard and her dad and my dad are strong, principled, educated, loving and respectful men so they suited.
My dad drowned saving a woman while we were on Easter holidays when I was 12. He was a senior police officer and highly respected in the aboriginal community where we lived.
We liked Arthur because I like Arty for short and I haven't heard it for YEARS!
Besides, he's brave, alert and elegant like King Arthur......

It sounds like your dad was an amazing man & your father in law sounds like he must also be a pretty special guy for you to name your gorgesous little boy after them both.
Thanks for letting me know, as we were tossing up Arthur but ended up with Archer Bruce Roger ( Bruce after my day, Roger after Sal's ) as we wanted to honor both our Dads who will play such a special role in our boys lives.
