Hello girls,
finally home!
Zara was born on the 23rd @ 8:46 p.m. weighing 3350gr, 51cm and head of 36cm.
Ooooooooh, it wasn't fun...
I was induced with the oxytocin drip at 8 a.m.
They broke my waters at 2 p.m., hoping that would speed up things as not much was happening, contractions came every minute and it was all quite painful but I tried to focus on the fact that each contraction was bringing me closer to meeting my baby. When I was examined at 5 p.m. and was told I was still only 2cm, I was devastated. The next 3 hours just got harder but I kept hoping that these rather strong contractions were doing some serious work. Well... not so much, at 8 p.m. I was still only 2 cm so my obgyn told me that they would have to do a caesarean. "standstill in birth" it was called.
46 mins later she was there!
well... after that things didn't go too smoothly either. I threw up 4 times that night, my blood pressure dropped to 60/30, my iron levels dropped to 7 and I had a fever.... I felt pretty crap for the first few days. I couldn't believe it as last time I was up and running (well... not exactly running..) after a few hours. It turns out that I have a haematoma which explains the blood loss and all that stuff.
Feeling much better now...
Thanks for all the wishes!
Love
Snowy
