Strep B is transient therefore you may have it now and not at the birth. My Ob was a high risk/infertility specialist Ob (when I thought I needed the best I could get) and he said he never even bothers testing for strep b due to it being transient and he will only give ab's to high risk women (waters ruptured for some time, prem babe etc). He said he can tell if a babe has contracted strep b as they have a distinct smell to them.
Abs will also mess up the baby's gut flora.
Check out the garlic / vaginal infections thread. They believe this could help with strep B as well as thrush and asking women to contact them with results :)
