They're just giving you a taste test. ;-) & hopefully moving bubs into a better spot.
If baby does stay posterior, there are positions that can relieve the pressure on your spine. All fours is a common one.

Just wanted to pop in and say all the best for the arrival of your little bundle of love. Get some rest, while you can. How exciting. I look forward to readig your birth announcement.
Thanks guys, I'll totally keep you posted.
Am heading back to bed now to catch up on some of that sleep that I missed out on last night!!

Hi Sue
my best advice if this happens again is take a couple of paracetamol (they really can work wonders for easing the pain) and try to rest and ignore the contractions. Keep eating and drinking as you may need your strength soon. My preferred position for a back labour was kneeling on the couch with my arms on the arm rest and watching TV or reading a book that way. If bub is posterior this will help. Try not to time the contractions (I know it is tempting) because if you are able to do this they are probably not yet the real thing.
It sounds like your body is getting ready to give you a baby though! Good luck
