I'm totally confused by the "this is a live birth" bit - do babies tap dance out in tv hossie? :cryinglaugh:
Trish that was wonderful! I have a million questions though...lol.
Do you remember it how it looked? Like we have no visual record of DD's birth, so i only have my memories and i wonder how different they'd be if we had a recording like this. I asked XP how it looked when i was pushing and he said "2 pushes and she was out" now i KNOW (because it was me) that what happened was that my body pushed and i roared to stop it, then i realised i didn't have to and pushed once and she was out, but he saw her head come out a few more cm's with that first grunt-and-fight-it-back and interpreted it as an active push on my part. So when you watch her coming on tape, how does it tally in your mind?
Also did you feel new stinging with each extra bit of crowning/birth? I found once DD had fully crowned i felt pretty much burny-but-numb, a neck didn't feel much different to a shoulder/hip, and pushing (or not pushing) didn't change the pain level or the sensation, so it amazed me to see you could actually FEEL her progress still at that point.
It was a lovely movie hon, and i've forwarded it to DP, as i hope to homebirth our babies into his hands, and i think that it is one of the most honest, and for that moving, birth videos i've ever seen. THanks so much for sharing.
